Its a best selling Novel by Dmitri Glukhovsky, however it was written in German and its audio book is also in German. I was introduced to it through the Game "Metro 2033" which is based on the book. In a nut shell the world has been reduced to ash after WWIII, anything and everything above ground has been destroyed by the Nuclear bombs, forcing what remains of humanity under ground. Now; in Moscow 2033, a new threat has arived in the Metro System forcing Artyom, one of the last humans born above ground, to take a stand and a mission that could either save the human race of the Metro, or end it forever. He has to survive not only the Nazi's and the Communists of the other Metro states scattered throughout the Metro system, but the mutants and phantoms of the Metro aswell.

I get with a group of four friends and we all take turns playing.

I never finished 1, but it scared the living hell out of me when I was younger. I then played two recently and beat it but my god! I could only play it by day! Jeez that game gives you the willies and makes you look over your shoulder more than anything. However, in 1 you only saw the ghosts through the camera lense and it scared the piss out of me.
