today i was walking to work it was so hot I felt a drip on my arm and I knew it was my sweat since it wasn't going to rain. on the walk home the sky let loose a few drops just to tease me!

Quiet Man Cometh 07-11-2011 09:23 PM

I think people sweat less in dry heat because sweating actually works, while when it's humid, sweating doen't work that well because it doesnt' evaporate but the body can't do much else but sweat more and hope it works. I found as soon as I switched to deoderant for aerobits class instead of antipersperant, I found I sweat less and actually felt cold more often than hot.

Feyth is black unicorn today? Looks nifty. :)

Feythfull 07-11-2011 10:09 PM

yep you guess it Quiet! I was thinking of switching to my regular unicorn avi then thought of making a black version!

that makes a lot of scene since when it's humid there is alot of moisture in the air so there is less evaporation.

Quiet Man Cometh 07-11-2011 10:29 PM

Yup. My dad has a friend who lives in Toronto or Ottawa, not sure which, and it's nasty humid there. He keeps three shirts in the freezer and switches them throughout the day.

I've only been to Toronto a couple of times and I have no plans ot go back. I was at a lake outside the city and we were on the 2 hour busride back with no air conditioning. When we arrived at the airport in the city everyone piled off the bus, then promptly turned around and tried so pile back on. That's how nasty the humidity was. Ick!

Feythfull 07-11-2011 10:43 PM

yeah it is super humid around here omg I think it would be pretty much the same in Toronto and Ottawa though Ottawa is by the St. Lawrence so that might make a difference though Toronto is on lake Ontario is that the lake you were on.
No water where I live just some creeks and small lakes not many though. it would be so nice to live near the water!
I wish I could go to BC!

Quiet Man Cometh 07-11-2011 10:51 PM

I like BC. I've got a couple friends who came from out east for varying reasons. My mom herself is from New Brunswick, my dad is from Alberta. I like the rain and the overcast weather. Once and while I miss the blue skies and rain storms that the northern interior of the provinces gets since it's more prairie there. You can see in the sku the patchwork of clouds when there's a storm coming. Half the sky is blue and white and the other half is dark grey or black. It dumps rain for a bit, then 20 minutes later it's sunny again. Kind of a nice change from the coastal all day rain that happens around here.

Feythfull 07-11-2011 10:56 PM

rain sounds nice right about now well pretty much all the time i love rain and thunderstorms

Kenly 07-11-2011 11:59 PM

as hot as it was today, we had to throw two wagonfuls of hay in the loft today!! thank the GODS that we're done for the season now!!! *dies*

Quiet Man Cometh 07-12-2011 07:27 AM

My sister needs to get her hay cut. Go figure the guy that does it is stuck on another job. A bunch of neighbours need their's done too now that it's sunny enough to dry quickly.

Blah. Want a poptart. Don't have any. Le sigh.

Kenly 07-12-2011 11:52 AM

*offers poptart*

we had to get the last of it in because it was threatening rain yesterday. which, go figure, it never did. >,<

gremlin 07-12-2011 07:24 PM

YOU'RE SO MEAN!
I gave him a bath, he's super happy. I gave him treats for not nipping me and for not trying to escape. He smells good.

Feythfull 07-12-2011 08:57 PM

He likes having a bath? My sister has shampoo for her dog that is supposed to make the dog smell like an oatmeal cookie

Kenly 07-12-2011 09:28 PM

... why would you want your pet to smell like a cookie?

Feythfull 07-12-2011 09:41 PM

I don't know. I don't think it smells like one anyways most scented things don't smell like what they are supposed to smell like.

Quiet Man Cometh 07-12-2011 09:54 PM

My dog's shampoo smells like passion fruit. Fortunately it didn't really work in the smell department. I thought I'd try it because it's for itchy skin.

The two boys at my house got baths a couple days ago. They're carry sized, so we bath them in the sink. We just got back from the farm and at least one of them was rolling in most things that he could find. They get along really we together now. One is my brother's dog but he's away so I have both of them here at the moment, and it's dinner time. My boy is making this known and has been for the last half-hour.

He knows the "go away, not dealing with you now" signal when I'm in bed, which is a big wave of the arm from under the covers, but I'm awak now so I'm fair game for imploring and annoyed looks. Better feed them.

Feythfull 07-12-2011 10:40 PM

i like the smell of passion fruit

I don't know if my shampoo is suppose to smell like that or if it has oatmeal in it, but yeah... it says oatmeal on it.

Quiet Man Cometh 07-12-2011 11:06 PM

Oatmeal is typical for sensitive skin shampoos. My anti-itch stuff has oatmeal in it as well. It's a fairly routine ingredient.

I just don't think my dog should smell like fruit. I think he should smell like clean dog. :)

gremlin 07-12-2011 11:18 PM

Yeah, the shampoo is for sensative skin. :)

Funky Monkey Vibration 07-13-2011 07:24 AM

And dogs smell good? o:

Kenly 07-13-2011 11:55 AM

my least favorite smell, where they're concerned, i think (other than 'i've just rolled in something dead') is wet dog. *shudder*

Lucid: 07-13-2011 04:38 PM

I spy a David! :O **ties down to the thread** no more leaving!

Feythfull 07-13-2011 08:06 PM

yeah wet dog is an annoying smell. My sister gave her dog a bath when I was there one day and since my sister had her baby the dog wants attention any time she can get it so after her bath she kept coming over and standing my you wagging her tail and leaning on you and trying to get you to pet her.

Oh it's funny since my sister doesn't want people to touch the baby after they have touched the dog unless they wash their hands first her and her husband and my self who knows who else pet the dog with out feet.
So today when I was over there the dog was digging her nose under my foot so that I would pet her it was funny.

littl3chocobo 07-13-2011 08:12 PM
