Tam I am 05-22-2014 08:27 PM

I once wrote a novel about a Canadian spy team who used their "disabilities" as super powers. And dropped an alien boy from an alternate Earth on them. Modern Toronto setting.

*goes to look at PM*

Lawtan 05-22-2014 09:19 PM

Sounds cool. I'll have to read it sometime, Tam.

Tam I am 05-23-2014 05:59 PM

:D

In the meantime, here's a little fanfic thing my friend and I wrote. Can you recognize any of these characters?

Lawtan 05-26-2014 12:06 AM

*Reads* I...can't. Partly because I don't know what/who I am looking for...one of them...nope, I have no clue (thought Kida was familiar for a moment)
Sorry...

*Finishes digging a hole to China* I found another Archive!
(Something I was listening to had several references to "ancient curses" and I wanted to find the mythos and basis for them...namely, a tale about how a venomous demon was created by sealing a host of envenomed creatures in a jar and waiting for them to kill/eat (and in theory concentrate the venom)into one final creature, known as Gu (poison) or Jincan, or "the golden silkworm." It is said that if one sacrificed to it, it would give riches (or you can let it kill you instead). It is alternatively a potent death curse.

The theory holds with some creatures (Poison Dart Frog is believed to become toxic from its environment/food) and bacteria (this is a method used to create bacteria that fight other deadly bacteria)...but I would like to make the obvious disclaimer: Don't try this at home, kiddies. xD

Sabrehagen 05-26-2014 12:45 AM

I meant I hadn't bothered with the tv and couch for about a week; due to either being engrossed in manga or not wanting to walk that far due to laziness.

Kilala Mikal 05-26-2014 01:25 AM

*pokes around to show signs of life before returning to hidey spot*

It seems like when I'm signed in I'm basically the only one online, literally. And I seem to be missing you (Law) and Vivi everytime y'all are online. *flails*

Sabrehagen 05-26-2014 01:27 AM

I lurk in invisibly, so you're never alone since I have basically no life.

Kilala Mikal 05-26-2014 01:49 AM

I have a really bad habit of posting then poofing. XD Especially during the day.

How're you today Sabre? :)

Sabrehagen 05-26-2014 02:09 AM

No worries

I'm alright, listening to a playlist of mine whilst working on a facebook jigsaw; makes it easier when the pieces are digital as there's less chance of me becoming pissy and making a mess as I rage. >>;

How are you?

Lawtan 05-26-2014 10:07 AM

Sorry, Kirara...
I think Vincent is on a no-post period *leaves a nice warm comfy couch for Vincent when he feels/gets better*
Yeah...I am on when no one else is, usually...

And on another note: This is what a world ruled by order looks like...

*From a horror series, if you wind up at the beginning, skip to 12:48*

Tam I am 05-26-2014 03:52 PM

What skin is that, Kiki?

Sorry...

XD Kida is a baby ohmu who was tortured in 'Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind'. I decided to gank her for my Nexus between realities. My friend Den named her Kida, after a girl from the same story. She hangs around the Nexus and asks for dry bread. "Dry bread" to her can mean cakes, cookies, pizza, old books, your friend's sock he wanted back, and apparently, herring gulls.

Jetfire is the old bot from the second Bay directed 'Transformers' movie, Ax is from 'Animorphs', Captain Arrow was the first mate of the ship in 'Treasure Planet'. The rest, I think are OCs, and Seaspray is of a race I made up myself. They're kindly and benevolent people, but the presence of a virus that becomes active after their bodies rot means that they have to eat their dead.

Lawtan 05-26-2014 04:14 PM

THAT'S WHY KIDA WAS FAMILIAR!!! (<3 Nausicaa and the Valley of the Wind)

Haven't really seen the rest of them. It was interesting (And odd XD - not used to that format)

LOL It's the one manga series that I've read in full and own in full, and that I reread. I know the ohmu baby didn't really die in the story, but I couldn't resist ganking her. Master Yupa and Ohma are also in the Nexus. Ohma's a Transformer now, but he still smirks.

My friend and I write in script form because we find the writing goes faster. And I teased my chiropractor the other day by telling her about the story and then telling her the gulls came from 'Finding Nemo'. She was like, "Whyyyyy? I used to like you!" XD:p-mischievous:

Lawtan 05-27-2014 01:36 PM

*Realization what that meant*
Mine?

Tam I am 05-27-2014 03:02 PM

XD Yup, those guys. It is an example of my sense of humour that I thought it was funny to feed one to a baby ohmu.

Lawtan 05-27-2014 03:48 PM

XD

On another note, ever feed a horse old/stale caramel corn?

Umaeril 05-28-2014 01:05 PM

Hi Lawtan, how are you doing?

Where is Vincent, and Kilala?

Lawtan 05-28-2014 02:16 PM

Vincent is in a rather bleh state right now, and I think Kilala is dealing with some private issues...
Trying to keep Trisphee up for them XD

Classes have started for the summer, so whoopee!

Umaeril 05-28-2014 03:47 PM

Oh well I hope they both perk up soon and that things work out ok.

You sound happy, are you really happy about school starting up? :]

Lawtan 05-28-2014 04:02 PM

I'm more "meh" about it. It is better than nothing, though :)

Umaeril 05-28-2014 04:09 PM

Yeah I hear you, at least it is something and seeing some people, friends or whatever. I kind of miss going to the library in a school, any school.

zosa 05-28-2014 08:34 PM

Lawtan 05-28-2014 08:37 PM

Tam - I never saw a happier horse. XD (Nodding their head like they were possessed with sticky caramel)

It is not good to give them too much, but some was hilarious!

And welcome to the Library, Zosa!

zosa 05-28-2014 08:39 PM

Lawtan 05-28-2014 08:40 PM

I need to get some sleep...so, happy din-din!

zosa 05-28-2014 08:41 PM

Vincent 05-28-2014 08:41 PM

Hope you sleep well, Lawman. o-o -nodnod-

Lawtan 05-28-2014 08:42 PM

zosa 05-28-2014 08:42 PM

Vincent 05-28-2014 08:45 PM

@ Lawman ;
-snugglesnuggle-

@ Zosa ;
I really don't know if I will be, so if I am, I am. haha.

Tam I am 05-28-2014 08:46 PM

Call me Tam. Contrasting?

XD The horses I was feeding the cornhusks to were really happy too. The mustang stallion let me ride him around, and he wouldn't even listen to the girl who had taken riding lessons, just stood there and waited for her to go away.

Oh hey! Vincent's back! *pulls Vincent hair gently by way of welcome*

Vincent 05-28-2014 08:49 PM

Herro Tam. owo

Not really back-back.
Just checking in for the moment. x.x
Still not feeling well haha. x:

Tam I am 05-28-2014 08:50 PM

Then you need all the friendly "abuse" you can get!

*stuffs you full of delicious medicine*

Vincent 05-28-2014 08:53 PM

Psh there is no such things as delicious medicine. BI

zosa 05-28-2014 08:59 PM

Tam I am 05-29-2014 01:15 PM

Actually there is, even in the real world! But this is the virtual world, so I got this from Mary Poppins, and it tastes like your favourite food. XD

Lawtan 05-29-2014 03:41 PM

Thanks, Tam :D
*luffles on Tam*

Tam I am 05-30-2014 01:32 AM

Yay, luffle!

XD I read about that book in another book, looked it up on Google, found out that it was out of copyright and that I could legally get it free, and started searching for a free copy. Found that one, a PDF, and an epub, which last is what I needed.

Den 05-30-2014 10:40 AM

*peeks in and decides to stop lurking*

This is my favorite work of fiction. I have a copy for my personal library, and I found this version awhile back. One thing I really like about Project Gutenburg is the different formats available. Someday, I'll print off a bunch of the fiction I have bookmarked from there, and I'll illustrate it myself. :3
