lol i never been in uni cause it is way too expensive. and yeah my friend has to pay for print too

Reyoki 07-20-2011 03:39 PM

I go to a community college, and our prints are 10 cents each. You have to buy a special card, too. The card costs a dollar when you first buy it, but you already have 50 cents on it. I keep a couple spares in all my binders in case of emergencies.

Uzekins 07-20-2011 03:41 PM

mine gave us $50 free but then again i didn;t even use that many lol

Reyoki 07-20-2011 03:46 PM

The cards we have are... rechargeable? I guess you could call it that. We're able to put more money on the cards, and they never expire. Two semesters ago, I used over ten dollars worth of prints because I had to print out copies of a Power Point presentation for my entire class.

Yokuutsu 07-20-2011 03:47 PM

They charge us for a technology fee....which I never use now that they've taken away the free prints.

So they are charging me for a service I don't need or use.

Uzekins 07-20-2011 03:54 PM

ah thats not fair really but they;re all greedy. money lol

Yokuutsu 07-20-2011 03:57 PM

Yeah, I know...which is why I'm glad that this is my last year.

I either graduate or lose the scholarship that pays for half or more of my schooling.

Reyoki 07-20-2011 03:58 PM

I have scholarships and grants, so the only thing I really have to pay for is basic stuff like notebooks and pencils, and the print card.

I might have to start paying some of my tuition soon, though, because of all the rate hikes. I can only hope that my dad's recent retirement is taken into account when the Financial Aid office goes over my paperwork.

Uzekins 07-20-2011 04:01 PM

ah, still sucks though and my college tuition etc went up too.

Yokuutsu 07-20-2011 04:01 PM

My state is one of those states where if you have a surplus of scholarships and grants....they give you a check for the difference.

That's how I pay for my textbooks, body wash and other hygenic shit that my mother refuses to buy, maybe some birthday/christmas presents for people close to me...and to eat something that doesn't come out of a can and isn't a frozen tv dinner .-. Banquet is nasty.

This semester I only have 4 classes. The books will cost over 500 dollars >_<

And our tuition goes up every year....without stupid people voting in extra fees.

Uzekins 07-20-2011 04:01 PM

most expensive book i got. I bought from my friend for half price.

Yokuutsu 07-20-2011 04:03 PM

I buy from one of the two bookstores.

One will screw you at book buyback time...the other will give you half price back for books they still need.

Spirit of the Party 07-20-2011 04:04 PM

Good afternoon, peeps. *struts in*

Reyoki 07-20-2011 04:10 PM

My school does that, too, Yoku. My books this semester are going to cost about $200-ish. I'm taking some pretty easy classes this time around, and my mom already had the Precalculus book I needed.

Uzekins 07-20-2011 04:10 PM

=p hi hi C:
*pounces on*

ah. lol i never buyback etc. i would given like 1/2 price to ppl to buy from me

Reyoki 07-20-2011 04:14 PM

My friends are all a year or two ahead of me, so I don't have that opportunity.

I did keep my French textbook, though. My professor used it because it didn't have all the answers in it and let me use his during the class. He wrote extra notes and stuff in mine and we traded back at the end of the second semester I had with him.
