Haha! Three days after mine <3

DKのたん生日は六月十二日です。
DK no tanjyoubi wa rokugatsu jyuuninichi desu.

Demonskid 05-10-2011 10:57 PM

O3O *writes this down*

My sisters bday is on the 9th xD

Azrael 05-10-2011 11:00 PM

tanjyoubi = birthday
rokugatsu = june (sixth month)
jyuuni = 12
nichi = day

So DK's birthday is in the sixth month twelfth day.

XD I love my birth date <3 It's cool.

Demonskid 05-10-2011 11:03 PM

xD I was supposed to be born the ninth but.. mom said I was 3 days over due xD that and I refused to come out until after my aunt left..

then she told the doc to put me back cause I wasn't a boy xp

I knew tanjoubi at least xD

Azrael 05-11-2011 12:03 AM

Months are really easy to remember. It's just 1-12 basically and gatsu.
ichi gatsu
ni gatsu
san gatsu
shi gatsu
go gatsu
roku gatsu
shichi gatsu
hachi gatsu
kyu gatsu
jyuu gatsu
jyuu ichi gatsu
jyuu ni gatsu

and then the days are a bit more complicated cause 1-10 are odd and so is 20, 14, and 24.

Memorization, memorization, memorization.

I hate to say it, but it's the only way to learn the dates and kanji.

Azrael 05-11-2011 12:09 AM

I'm starting to like Kanji now, honestly. >3<' Like, I hated it, but I also had thought i was bad at memorizing... but like, I've learned that if I just study study study on them I can get them down pretty damn good, and I'm so proud of myself for that. >3<'

As for the dates, I remember them once they're brought up but if I don't use it I always forget. Especially the first day. Ugh. =p

also the dates the first 10 are basically just the original japanese counters except -mostly- with Ka instead of tsu. Except a few have other slight diffs.

Ashurato 05-11-2011 12:11 AM

Tsuitachi? I don't blame you. The first ten are killer to people first learning.

私の誕生日は十一月ニ十六日です。
今年二十七歳になります。

Azrael 05-11-2011 12:14 AM

Oh! I should have remembered that form but I couldn't! Damn. XD We just learned the narimasu thingy like two weeks ago! >3<

I'm so glad I could read those sentences with the kanji! Haha. I don't know the 'tan' but I know the "jyoubi' part so I could put two and two together there. Also don't know sai, but again, two-and-two. Lol I plan to study this summer by grabbing the kanji from my textbook and making lists to study. >3<'

Also: ashy's old. XD JK, but older than I thought! I dunno why though.

Ashurato 05-11-2011 12:19 AM

OTL

I know and yet I still get carded when I buy lotto tickets. LOTTO TICKETS for crying out loud!

I just have a baby face.

Azrael 05-11-2011 12:20 AM

When you're older and if you're still getting carded, you'll be happy. LoL.

how do you say 'I thought you were older'? I know that 'to think' is 'to omoimasu" so yeah. XD

Ashurato 05-11-2011 12:28 AM

もっと年寄りと思いました。

Motto toshiyori to omoimashita.

There's other (ruder) ways of saying it, but this is how I normally say it.

Azrael 05-11-2011 12:36 AM

XD Ruder... that reminds me of when my friend and I wanted to say 'it's none of your business' or something like that in Japanese and asked our teacher and she just stared at us and shook her head. She said she didn't know how to say it. So we liked to joke that it's so rude/blunt that the Japanese have no way of saying it. LoL

Ashurato 05-11-2011 12:54 AM

あんたには関係ねぇんだよ!

Anta ni wa kankei nee n da yo!

That's how you say it's none of your business.
Pretty rudely (almost punkish), I may add.

Azrael 05-11-2011 01:08 AM

LoL I could tell it was 'blunt' by the 'da yo' part. but XD My teacher didn't know that. I thought it was funny.

Argh! I can't wait till next summer. I want to go so bad and /have/ to use it.

Ashurato 05-11-2011 01:13 AM

You're thinking of going to Japan next year?
