I am not really going to be seeing my nephew much since my cousin and her husband live in another state.
I am sure I will see him at Christmas, but that might be about it. XD So I do not have to worry, but the idea and concept of being an aunt always sounded awesome, lol. I am kind of happy that I will not have to deal with him much because I am not a kid person. >>; |
DDD:
Your cousin had a baby? Not a sibling? Because...their baby would be your second cousin. (/fidgets) |
;_; But I was always taught that if siblings or cousins have kids that the other siblings/cousins that you are an aunt.
|
Same here. XD Because three of my cousins last year had babies and I always thought of myself as an aunt.
|
I'm sorry. ; ~ ;
Being an aunt can only happen if your siblings have a child. If your cousins have a child, they become your second cousin. And if your second cousins have a child, they're your third cousins. And so on and so forth. Of course, your cousins can always have their baby grow up calling you Aunt. Especially if it's normal within your family for them to do that. But it'll be confusing to the rest of the world if you tell them they're your cousins baby. ><;; |
-huggles honbons- Daw don't let it bust your bubble, you have a new family member. :3
|
I suppose
|
xD -continues to point out the bright side-
You are feeling better today and you have a puppy that loves you <3 |
That much is true
|
XD and you have a friend thats an optimist that can probably continue pointing out good things for at least one more post.
|
Exactly. A new family member is always a good thing.
And I didn't mean to burst any bubbles, I was just confused. D:(/hugs tight) And you can still be an aunt, especially if you treat them like a niece or nephew and they grow up with that. It's a title, it doesn't have to be biological. And the title has a meaning and responsibility behind it. It's like me calling the people that lived down the road from me my whole life ''Meme and Pepe'', which I still do to this day. They're not even related to me, but they were like the grandparents I never had. And they embraced me like I was their granddaughter. It's weird to think of them as Mr. and Mrs. Lauzon. And I had another ''grandma'' who we called Granny Betty. She was a close friend with my grandma (mom's mom). |
You're just about the only optimist I know.
I suppose so, but if I am only going to see this kid once a year I doubt he will remember me anyway regardless if I am considered aunt or not. |
It will last until I have to go to work. Work makes me cynical. =_+ and hate the world.
|
For having to work as many hours that you do I would be surprised if you did not become cynical or hate the world.
I may have even called you crazy. |
You'd be surprised who kids remember.
Trust me, they're like sponges growing up. If they know you as an Aunt, and if they're parents talk about you and address you as Aunt in front of them, they'll remember you as that. And you are an aunt. I'm just an ignorant twat who's enjoying the taste of foot in mouth. |
XD haha I only saw my cousins for about once a year for a while and only the oldest one really remembers me because I changed her diapers and baby sat her, the younger one gets so quiet around me and stares.
XD I am probably crazy or I have prescription rose colored glasses. |
