Moonless Midnight 10-13-2011 09:39 PM

Shakespear... I like some of his plays but god I hate them being in old english >.>

Lioshika 10-13-2011 09:40 PM

I have way too many books probably.

DarkForbidden-Love 10-13-2011 09:43 PM

I have a book called The Best Poems of the English Language and the first couple poems are really old english.

This is part of one:
Nu we sculon herigean heofonrices Weard,
Meotodes meahte ond his modge?ance

The rough translation is:
Now we must praise The kingdom of Heaven's guardian
The might of the Creator and his purpose,

Moonless Midnight 10-13-2011 09:44 PM

@Dark: O-o dang that sounds like a totally different language XD

Lost_Ninja9213 10-13-2011 09:45 PM

that is really cool O.O and i love Shakespeare, especially the histories :D (sorry just disappeared, went upstairs and ended up making a bracelet XD)

DarkForbidden-Love 10-13-2011 09:48 PM

It is almost a totally different language. The English/American language started out as a mash between two different languages. I think it was close to French and Germanic.
