I got rid of most of my VHSs, but one that I kept is Kiki's Delivery Service. I kept that one because I bought the DVD but they got rid of the old songs from the Disney VHS. >:T I liked the old songs better! |
were the disney songs a new addition or was the dvd just lacking in songs?

They wanted the DVD release of Kiki's Delivery Service to be more similar to the original Japanese release...
So they got rid of all the English songs and replaced them with the original Japanese songs and they cut out a lot of Jiji's dialogue. I think they even replaced the ending where Jiji's voice comes back and they gave him the cat noises like the release in Japan. |

it's this horrible competitor that is infringing on coveted shelf-space. get this the quality is terrible and the audio is worse but people buy it anyway because it has double the recording length! at this rate all the shops are eventually only going to carry this shirty brand instead of the good stuff
huh.... um, so this might be an unpopular opinion but i think that is a grand idea |

It's basically where they put on a little film festival, but all the show is studio Ghibli movies.

when I was in high school, only one of the friend group had cable, so she recorded sailor moon/card captor sakura and in the next day she gave the vhs to the rest of the group

well, that studio sure has a lot of films. i could see that being a thing
haha, nice. i had a friend who would put postage-stamp sized videos of japanese sailormoon on cds to share XD it ws sooooo small and artifacted but it was certainly a different experience from pal sailormoon |
