And there are, even now days, some people who have never seen a book of any kind in their lives.

Ohh, no wonder their reactions would be so interesting :O!

*nod nod!* I'm reading a book right now about a man who was translating the Bible for a tribe in Papua New Guinea who wanted it. And they were working on Joseph's story. And the men were hanging on every word, and then yelling angrily when they found out what Potipher's wife did. And then, with another story, they didn't even want lunch. They were over by the typewriter reading each new word as it came out. They were talking proof readers out of books so they could read them, bugging the tribespeople who had already learned to teach them.

Wow, that's amazing XD! But I guess it makes sense. Reading is kind of magical, if I think about it a certain way. Granted, not every group of people thinks that, it seems :o

When people say they don't like reading books because they find all books boring, the thought in my head is that they have no imagination. .-.

mdom 12-15-2016 01:26 PM

Or they haven't found the right book!!
like, if I get as badly written book, I'll find it boring xD

Natsunaine 12-15-2016 02:43 PM

Most people whom say that are generally to stubborn to actually try to find a good book, That or they dont look in the right place. That is my opinion at least.

Yeah. Some people groups see no point in it. Not interested at all. Others are writing their own books before the grammer's even fully hashed out.

And then there was the Asian people group where the translator just used the local mainstream alphabet and used it to write their language. There were puzzled frowns at the books, and then people were laughing and reading out loud.

Well, some people also have things like extreme dyslexia to deal with. Some people don't like reading books because it's just so much hard work.

Potironette 12-15-2016 05:23 PM

I wish for a book that never ends <3

ml1201 12-15-2016 05:30 PM

I've asked people that say that before if they have something like dyslexia, 90% of them didn't, they just prefer reading things like People's magazine and stuff like that. They will 100% turn their noses up to books. .-. Then again most of these people were the ones I went to school with, so meh? *shrugs shoulders* We had a large class, but second worst education rating in our state.

I think that's called a "fandom"...

...but the Xanth novels have over 50 in the series...that's kind of like never-ending...

Potironette 12-15-2016 06:29 PM

"fandom" x'D... I read fanfiction but, it's a little hard to find something that I'll like--since the worlds are always a little different.

Oh wow, over 50 books is a lot '_'. Is it good though?

Lawtan 12-15-2016 06:44 PM

Mom likes them. I liked the first trilogy^3.
Xanth started out like Discworld, but has had ups and downs. There is some frustration on the Author's part because he would like to do more than just Xanth, but he keeps in good spirit with the books.

Potironette 12-15-2016 07:16 PM

The first 27 books?

The universe sounds interesting :o. I need to read it when I get the time!

Tam I am 12-15-2016 09:47 PM

Ahh. The magazine readers.

I've seen some manga that never seemed to end. I never got past the second book in those.

Potironette 12-15-2016 10:08 PM

One Piece seems to never end. I lost my page D:

As I've gotten older, I've found I'm less and less drawn to anime and manga... Don't get me wrong, I have several beloved shows/movies, but anymore, it really doesn't appeal to me the way it did when I was younger.
