Yeah, >:/ flies suck! *raises fist in protest*

Stabbsworth 08-19-2019 07:57 PM

grumbles about warframe.

okay, so scanning three decently agile enemies is a pain in the arse, and the scanner will conveniently not work if your companion is attacking it. so you have to sneak up on the enemy, make sure it doesn't die and make sure your companion isn't attacking it, and you have to scan it with a synthesis scanner. of course, it would be nice if i could stealth the entire mission, but that's borderline impossible.

fuck you, cephalon simaris.

I....can't decide if that looks good or not...

Merskelly Metalien 08-20-2019 01:50 PM

I'm going to go on another adventure today. :[ It's a business adventure, so kinda boring but at least I look like I know where I'm going this time. /x}

Stabbsworth 08-20-2019 06:02 PM

mutters quietly.

after updating the graphics drivers (and experiencing a little bit of flashing, which was stated somewhere in the driver update menu), NMS... still doesn't work.

So that's mildly annoying, because now I can't get back to playing the game, and there's no real way for me to get a refund because I've played it for around five hours the other day.

Hopefully they fix the launching bugs soon, I love scanning things and documenting things.

Kaderin Triste 08-21-2019 02:46 PM

Hrm....thinking I may try to get a job as a teacher's aide/assistant this year, if it's not too late.
I hate kids, but it's decent money and would be better than my custodial museum job.

How about unhealthy food then?

Nah there's some healthy foods I like. ouo

Tomorrow's my first day at my new college university.
<u<; I only have to go in for one class, and I have my ride over and back, but..it's still a little weird being in the same classroom with people who graduated this year from high school. e_e;
Also I'll be taking a picture for my ID card. >~> muh..

My wife is having her gallbladder removed this morning.

It's not really an "awesome" (medical procedures are rarely awesome) and it's not really an "awful" (it should hopefully relieve the problems she's been having) but it's definitely significant.

Merskelly Metalien 08-22-2019 12:02 PM

:[ Awh, I hope she recovers realitively smoothly. Operations kinda suck. I should know. I've never really had one. <x/ ..yet.

I tried putting eyeliner on today. o-o Just, just to wing it a bit, super subtle and all, but my eyes are shaped differently so one ended up lower that the other, but the good news is my hair partially just blocks the other one, but it's also the better one, and I realize in hindsight, I'll need more practice. <x} I'm not a make-up oriented gal, but I wanna try at least some nice shaping around the eyes. <:} I can't for the life of me do much eyeshadow since it tickles and gets itchy and then I mess it up because I forget I have it on when I rub my eyes. xD
Then I'm blind for the rest of the day. Make up is hard. ono; How do you people go about like...without touching your face??? 8/ It's a struggle just to try not to pull on my eyelashes. <x{

Stabbsworth 08-22-2019 12:10 PM

hopefully she recovers smoothly, coda.

NMS still is not working, but at least we've got updated graphics drivers!

Are those...eggs...on pizza...?
*gags*

Also, it was just hard to identify what was in the healthy food on my tiny phone screen, so not sure if it looked good based on that.
But I actually quite enjoy healthy food. Also, if it'd made properly, pizza CAN be a healthy food. But most pizza places drown them in grease.

Coda 08-22-2019 03:06 PM

My wife is home from the hospital now. She's still groggy from the anesthetic but she's doing all right.

The surgeon said her gallbladder was in really bad shape and it's good that it came out, and she should be doing a lot better once she recovers from the surgery.

Merskelly, there are three things I know about makeup. First, I don't like it and no one should be required to wear it. Second, people who want to wear it are free to do it even though I don't like it because my opinion on it doesn't count for anything. Third, someone who doesn't usually wear makeup that tries wearing makeup is going to have a hard time and it always stands out really strong to people who are used to seeing you without it. It takes getting used to.

Death by Mirrors 08-22-2019 03:25 PM

Glad to hear your wife's surgery went well, and I hope she recovers soon.

Stabbsworth 08-22-2019 06:31 PM

Might be able to play Neverwinter with those updated graphics drivers. Heck if I know.

Currently: Enjoying a vanilla milkshake and trying not to get into too much of an existential crisis while looking at commissions I'm supposed to be doing.

(Could reasonably do the original sketch on my phone and clean it up in SAI, I suppose.)

<:} ahh that's a good relief. Recovery takes time but glad it turned out well.
And yes, <x} I am not used to it, and it's new to me, but with practice, I hope I'll get it right. x}

Oh shit. Just got a call that there is a last-minute staff & board meeting tomorrow at the museum that seems to include everyone. Except the executive director.
O.o
I'm a bit concerned and nervous, but also excited.

DING DONG, THE BITCH IS GONE!!!!

I may be getting a bit of a promotion at museum!!!!

Lol. Well played.

But in all seriousness, yes. The executive director at the museum is no longer with the organization.
She was mistrustful, micromanaging, and basically didn't do any aspect of her job very well at all. Recently, she cut my hours back some to "do what was best for the organization" because certain things weren't getting cleaned as regularly as she wanted.
So yes....the cleaning person doesn't have time to thoroughly clean certain areas the way you want them to be done, so take more of their cleaning time away. 10/10 best solution.

Coda 08-23-2019 01:03 PM

O.o; Executive director?! That is an AWFULLY high title to be getting ousted from.

Kaderin Triste 08-23-2019 01:11 PM

It really is. I do hope she finds something else soon, but I know that this decision was a long time in coming and the employees we do have and our interim director will do our best to keep things running until the board can find a suitable replacement.

Also, I did not realize just how bad the tension and stress from having to deal with her micromanagement and just the general atmosphere was until the news was delivered. I feel like a weight has been lifted and I can finally breathe for the first time in 3.5 years!

Death by Mirrors 08-23-2019 02:32 PM

Congratulations on your job possibly becoming a bit less stressful then with that unneccessary tension resolved ^^

Kaderin Triste 08-23-2019 02:38 PM

And a strong potential for promotion to front desk as well!

Death by Mirrors 08-23-2019 02:46 PM

Even better!

Kaderin Triste 08-23-2019 02:54 PM

I know it won't happen right away because we have a big event coming up in about 3 weeks so it'll be kind of chaos until that's over, but our interim director (who is the current education director) wants to sit down and have an honest discussion about current job and what I want moving on from here.

So I've reached out to a tattoo parlor that will be opening in my town in October, asking about a possible apprenticeship... And now I'm trying to figure out what I should draw as some additional samples of my work...
