it would be nice if there is an item that can alter the skin tone to appear more mettalic and mechanical. it would serve as good base for steampunk or mech based cosplays.

Check out Second Skin, one of those shades might be a good place to start.

i second this. maybe done in different parts (ie. head, torso, arms, legs) for more customization. i have a set or two of lights for my avatar on secondlife and they are so much fun! :D

the item tag links to a specific item, the shop link takes you to the entire group. "Second Skin" is not an item, "Basic Second Skin" and "Berry Second Skin" are.
