There have a been a couple of books that have made me cry, but I can't seem to remember which ones they were..
|
Where the Red Fern Grows for sure.
|
Several books have made me cry.
Though I can get emotnal easily, and I also get REALLY into books. >.< |
Silver by Tanith Lee made me cry.
|
I think the only book that's ever made me cry was The Perks of Being a Wallflower.
It's about a boy's first year of highschool, and basically what he see's, hence the whole wallflower thing. But the a couple of the things that always seem to make me cry are... xD Before I start quoting the whole book, I'll post the one I was originally going to post.. xD You're probably thinking why would that make you cry? (well aside from the poem, I think it's quite the heart wrenching poem), but I think when you put things into your own perspective, and apply it to your situation(s) anything can be upsetting o.o. |
Only two that I can think of:
Endgame by Nancy Garden and The Sweet, Terrible, Glorious Year I Truly, Completely Lost It by Lisa Shanahan. |
Books make me cry all the time. x.x; well.. not actually CRY CRY.. but they've given me that completely hollow feeling for like DAYS after finishing it. XP even if the traumatic occurrence is resolved.. the initial shock of the event always sticks with me forever. x.x; the last book that i remember that with is HP7 x.o;
|
Yeah, friggin' Golden Compass Trilogy. I'm usually sad when I finish a book but that one just made me feel the worst. XD
|
yes however currently I can't remember which book it was...
|
Definitely a couple books...One I remember off the bat was Night I had to read it back in my freshman year in high school. I don't even really remember the book anymore but I know I cried hard at that one. I know more often than not I cry at movies more than I cry at books!
|
Cry um no angry yes
|
Not yet. But I don't read too many books.
|
Many books have brought me to tears, so many I can't even think of them all. The last book I read made me cry almost every other chapter once I got to the middle of the book; I'm very emotional when it comes to my OTP's.
|
No, I see no reason to cry while reading the kinds of books I read. You see, I mostly read fiction books so why cry over something fictional and unreal?
|
I forget the name, but in 3rd or 4th grade my class read a book where one of the characters drowned after falling from a vine over a creek and knocking herself out. Anyway, that one.
|
That sounds like the Bridge to Terabithia. I only saw the film, but... my God, I have never had *anything* break me down like that. I was... ruined... for a day when I saw that movie. I take it the book (assuming that was it) was just as bad, if not worse? Wow... and that young. Wow.
|
That's the one. I forget most of it since it's been quite a few years and I never saw the movie, but I think that's the only one for me.
|
That would be Terabithia, I'm pretty sure. Read the book in Elementary school, hence I did *not* see the movie. My cousin's went to go see it though and were in tears for sometime after wards. My aunt is now determined to screen all movies before taking her nieces to see them. She didn't think it would be all that bad.
|
Thinking about the book now, I migtht actually read it again.
We have an old copy of Where the Red Fern Grows which is supposed to be a wonderful book but also increadibly sad. Why do the supposedly good children's books need to be emotional downers? I think Big Red ended on a crummy note too. |
Racing in the rain. It's from a dogs viewpoint.
I'm really into pets and it was just very sad. |
@Quiet: I only saw the movie myself and got so choked up about that part <.<;;
As childish as it is, Christopher Pike's The Last Vampire series had me in tears at numerous points throughout the 6-book series >.> Although, I generally cry at the end of books and movies (or at least get choked up) because it's like saying goodbye to the characters and adventures v.v;; <-- Grew up on the neverending story >.>;; |
The last Harry Potter book :| I didn't care one bit about Sirius dying but Lupin and Fred, it was a NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Moment for me.
|
I cry at books all the time. The worst was probably the second Dragon Age novel, which sounds dumb but oh my GOD was it sad.
Seriously I was crying so hard I had to put the book down because I couldn't see the page any more XD Only time that's ever happened. |

(...it made ME cry, though.) |

One book that made me cry was Bridge to Terebithia. Someone on here reminded me of it. I havent read it in a really long time though~ |

LMAO, I love you so much. xDD |
Never heard of that book before but the one that made me cry was the baxter family series by karen kingsbury. i had to read other books after i finish reading one of hers.
|
If you haven't cried over a book, you aren't reading it right.
I've bawled my eyes out over The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. When Aslan was killed on the stone table. And also over Harry Potter. When Dumbledore, Snape, Fred, and Hedwig died. |
I cried over a very short book. Not because it was sad, but because it was so...hopeful.
The Alchemist (As a note, don't really let myself cry much...ever) |
Okay, seriously people, if you're going to get into the specifics about books, please put them in spoilers blocks? Or put a warning that you are going to reveal plot stuff in your post? I could have done without knowing a couple things here. -.-
|
:-(
*offers "A Mankind Witch"* On that note, how do you do the spoiler block? |
In all honesty, I can't remember, but the easiest way to find out how to do something is to quote the post you see it in and read how they did it.
EDIT: [ spoil] stuff goes here [/ spoil] Like that, only without the spaces. |
Roger that. Thanks *salutes*
|
There are plenty of books that I've cried to.
I think the Harry Potter books made me cry.. Like when someone died. I cried at the end also. Because it was all over. Lol |
The entire hunger games series kills me. From beginning to end everytime I reread it I lose it. Of course Harry Potter made me cry to the ends of the earth.
The Outsiders The Road Six Months To Live, which is about a sixteen year old girl who learns she has leukemeia and its horrible with saddness. |
Oh, I loved The Outsiders. When I first read it I was in a time of my life when pretty much nothing could make me cry (well other than trying to cough up some fake tears to get my parents' disciplining me to be less severe :P), so the fact the book was able to get me to shed several legitimate tears says quite a bit about how it was able to touch me.
Its movie counterpart was decent as well, but definitely not as good at the book. |
*Inserting one that left me in tears as a young kid.*
Gregor the Overlander. |
Yes a few books have made me cry. Harry Potter book 6 Ware the red fern grows and Mocking Jay. All those books made me cry but they were good books.
|
The entirety of The Deathly Hallows. Not just for the death of some seriously fantastic characters, but because the series I grew up with was ending.
Sabriel by Garth Nix was a tear jerk-er as well. |
