Oooooh that does sound good. ^^
I just had some pizza. D:

Mal Kapwn 01-07-2011 12:32 AM

Mmm pizza! I had taters.

M e w 01-07-2011 03:45 PM

Good afternooon! U8
Mal you get to be on the regulars list now I think. o u o

Mal Kapwn 01-07-2011 04:07 PM

Awesome ^.^ /happydance

How're you today?

M e w 01-07-2011 04:11 PM

I'm pretty good, glad it's Friday. ^^
You?

Mal Kapwn 01-07-2011 05:00 PM

Friday! 8D
I'm gewd. I just started a book called Daughter of Prophecy by Miles Owens. I don't usually like male writers (with a couple exceptions XD), but this one isn't bad so far.

M e w 01-07-2011 05:20 PM

Well if you really like it then you should recommend it. ^^
Haha I don't discriminate. I don't pay attention to if the author's male or female and some of my favorite books are by male authors and some are by female authors. :O

Mal Kapwn 01-07-2011 05:32 PM

I'm not totally sure if I like it yet or not XD I think I'm only about done with the first chapter. I haven't had much time to work on it. It's not so much that I make an effort to avoid male writers, it's just nine times out of ten I prefer female writers. There's only a couple really favorite male authors that I have, and lots of females. XD Then again, that probably has has something to do with the fact that it seems like there's more female fantasy writers than males, and fantasy is the bulk of what I read.

M e w 01-07-2011 06:28 PM

Alright. c:

Hmm, I never really noticed. :O
I read a lot of fantasy stuff too but I guess I don't pay much attention. xD

Mal Kapwn 01-08-2011 03:14 AM

Read Me!

Name of Book [ Assassin's Apprentice ]
Author [ Robin Hobb ]
Category [ Fantasy ]
Brief Summary [ "Young Fitz is the bastard son of the noble Prince Chivalry, raised in the shadow of the royal court by his father’s gruff stableman. He is treated like an outcast by all the royalty except the devious King Shrewd, who has him sectetly tutored in the arts of the assassin. For in Fitz’s blood runs the magic Skill–and the darker knowledge of a child raised with the stable hounds and rejected by his family. As barbarous raiders ravage the coasts, Fitz is growing to manhood. Soon he will face his first dangerous, soul-shattering mission. And though some regard him as a threat to the throne, he may just be the key to the survival of the kingdom." -- quoted from Robin Hobb's site. ]
Reason for Recommendation [ The history is rich, the storyline is superb, the characterization is amazing. The characters in the story will stay with you long after you read the books. This is one of those books you can reread and discover new things. The highs and lows the main character experiences will have you emotionally involved, sucked in. It's hard to put down. ]

M e w 01-08-2011 11:46 AM

Thanks for recommending! ^^
And now I have another book to read, every Friday you can download a free book with the Nook. U:
But it's just a novella so it's short whoo. xD

Sushi 01-08-2011 12:08 PM

The book looks interesting! I'll have to check it out sometime. Is anyone else reading something? :3

Sadrain 01-08-2011 12:09 PM

-floats in, quickly- sorry, I have been busy with stuffs so I have not been around much. ^^;

Sushi 01-08-2011 12:10 PM

Sadrain! Hey! How have you been? :D

M e w 01-08-2011 12:10 PM

Sushi :: I'm reading tons of stuff. xDD

Rainy :: It's alright. :]
How are you?

Sushi 01-08-2011 12:13 PM

@M E W; Yeah. Me too, but my reading is slowing down drastically for some reason. I'm reading "Ape House" by Sara Gruen. Sounds silly but so far it's good. I've read another one of her books, "Water for Elephants" and really liked it.

M e w 01-08-2011 12:16 PM

Hmm, I've seen the Water for Elephants title before. I'll see about checking them out... but not until I finish my long list. xD

johnny 01-08-2011 12:23 PM

Oh! I have Water For Elephants.

My aunt loaned it to my mother a while ago. I should read it...

Sushi 01-08-2011 12:23 PM

@M E W; Have you heard of a site called Shelfari? It's kinda cool. You can record books your reading, have read, etc. Keeps track of em' all on a virtual shelf. lol. And you can have book discussion with other readers and what not. I'm really liking it.

@johnny: I recommend it! I love that book. lol

M e w 01-08-2011 12:26 PM

Oh nope. If I remember I'll go look at it sometime. ^^

I'm really wanting to read a book I just bought recently... but I need to read a book from my school's library before I start that one. D:
I'd like to finish the library books before they need to be turned in. Almost done with one but there's a whole other one. >.<

Sushi 01-08-2011 12:28 PM

Curse library restraints! I hate renewing a book. I kinda feel like I failed in reading it. lol

M e w 01-08-2011 12:30 PM

xDD
Well I have enough time to finish them both in time, as long as I don't just stop reading for some reason. xD;

The book I'm wanting to read is Behemoth by Scott Westerfield... I read the one before it, Leviathan, in like a couple of days. LOVED it. D8
So I'm just crazy excited to read this one. >.<

johnny 01-08-2011 12:33 PM

-looks up that there Shelfari.-

...

-joins.-

:'D

Sushi 01-08-2011 12:38 PM

@ M E W; OMG! ME TOO! lol. I actually read that really recently! It totally got me in the urge to draw some steam punk. Haven't really gotten around to it. xD I've been planning on checking out the book, but I've been busy with a school book too.

@johnny; lol. Cool, isn't it?

M e w 01-08-2011 12:41 PM

8D!
It was really good, and I just loved all of the illustrations. ^^
Steampunk WWI hell yes. U8

Sushi 01-08-2011 12:44 PM

Haha. I think it's a very interesting concept. Makes me remember all I learned in History class. xD

M e w 01-08-2011 12:49 PM

xD
But ya, Behemoth is just sitting in my bookcase. D:
I could just turn the book back in to the library without reading it but... I would like to read it. xD;;

Sushi 01-08-2011 12:51 PM

I would try to read it. Maybe just a fun, side thing if you can squeeze in any time at all? I'm sure it's gonna be good. lol

Sadrain 01-08-2011 12:51 PM

I will write up suggestions for Jonathan Stroud's series about Bartimaeus. And Nightpool book and one Montgomery's book I really love... XD Sometime when I have time. <3

Right now I am kinda busy, not feeling very well and such, but I will live, lol. x3

Hope you all are alright, too. <3

M e w 01-08-2011 12:55 PM

Heh well I don't like reading a bunch of books at once so it has to wait. xD;
I'm actually reading two books at the same time right now but that's for different reasons... I usually just read one at a time. xD

Sushi 01-08-2011 12:58 PM

Aw. Hope you feel better soon! I have a question for you Sadrain. Do you pronounce your username, like, "SAD RAIN" or "Sahdrain" (like it's a name?) Maybe differently? I've always wondered.

@M E W; Makes sense. Have you ever taken part of the 50 book challenge?

M e w 01-08-2011 01:01 PM

Nope. I had seen something about it before but I didn't think I could do it. D:
I might try it though. xD
Since the year just started and all it seems like a good starting point.

Sushi 01-08-2011 01:08 PM

Yeah, I was thinking about taking it too. But... we'll see. lol

M e w 01-08-2011 01:10 PM

I'll just go ahead and do it. xD
Just write down every book I read and see if I can get to 50 by the end of the year haha.

Sushi 01-08-2011 01:25 PM

I'm sure I could read that many. xD

Do you have a favorite character in a book?

M e w 01-08-2011 01:27 PM

Hmmmm.... I can't think of any off the top of my head lol. xD;;
Lemme think about it for a minute.
You?

Sushi 01-08-2011 01:30 PM

Haha. I fall in love with so many characters, it's hard. Maybe the main character, Kvothe or his friend Bast from a book called "The Name Of The Wind". Good book. Very cool characters.

Mal Kapwn 01-08-2011 02:46 PM

Hello all ^.^

How is everyone doing?

M e w 01-08-2011 08:49 PM

I really liked the character in this book a just finished actually. xD
He's one of those loner types who is very funny when he gets irritated. o u o;
And he's a freaking superhuman secret agent whoo. xDD

Hey Mal. I'm good, about to go sketch some things. U:
You?

Shenanigans 01-08-2011 09:58 PM
