I really love tea, my favourite tea are green tea and ginger tea. I drink tea after lunch or after dinner and sometimes I tend to drink a lot of tea when I finished eating at the restaurant.
|
To me if i have tea I have to sweeten it with a ton of sugar
|
I always have tea when we go out to eat. I have to watch the strength now though, so I usually get a pot and then keep adding hot water to it so eventually it's just tea flavoured milk and sugar, but I like that too. :)
I carry tea in my purse sometimes, just in case I feel like something a restaurant doesn't have, or if I want to save money. |

bro i can yammer on 5ever about tea now
my favourite kinds of teas are gently-flavoured ones, i can't drink it if it's been steeping too long. i love white tea with agave syrup, but i also like green tea with ginseng and honey. my favourite mixed teas are passion and zen by tazo and oregon chai brand for chai lattes i drink tea every day, and i try to drink different flavours of it. my family has an entire cabinet dedicated to tea and we like to mix our own leaves sometimes for things like respiratory health, soothing sore throats, and even promoting restful sleep and vivid dreams. tea is just really great ok |
Heh. This is the tea yammering place. ;)
I know of Tazo teas. I've only tried "Awake." I think my sister might have some agave syrup on hand to try. It would be the sort of thing she'd have around. I have some white tea but it's all flavoured, but I find even flavoured white tea isn't strong to begin with. I think I have a Tazo sort of berry white. |
Good to find some fellow tea fiends here. :D
I grew up drinking tea. When I'm visiting my parents, my mom and I can finish a gallon of iced tea in about 2 hours. I'll drink any type of tea, except sweet tea (my iced tea can't have any sweetener at all). Although, if a tea's name contains the word Chai somewhere, that tea gets preferential treatment. owo My favorite tea brand is Zhena's Gypsy Tea, but some friends on another site recently pointed me in the direction of several others that I'm going to have to try. |
Cool. :). I was actually drinking coffee before I was drinking tea because I learned to make that first. I didn't start drinking tea until my mom tried taking me to an herbalist to see if it would help my health. I started with peppermint tea since I wasn't allowed things like soda pop and such anymore. Oh deprived childhood! But it was only for a couple weeks or so.
I started my little tea ritual complete with small, one person pot, sugar bowl, creamer, little spoon and cup on my mom's old aluminium tray. I don't remember when I started with "proper" tea. I do remember my mom always cleaning dirt or such off my face with a napkin dipped in her (weak and plain) tea. I habit I seem to have picked up with the odd greasy or sticky spot. Seems to work. :) |
Hello, I have no idea what 'Proper' tea is, But I have found that I enjoy a varied amount of Tea and Coffee, Sometimes a mixture of both in the case of the Green Tea Frappe from Starbucks with a shot of espresso and chocolate cause then it tastes like heaven. Lately though I have found myself in the spiced tea realm with lots of cinnamon and cloves added with orange or tangerine pieces |
Sounds like you be a good candidate for Chai tea. I like the chai tea lattes you can get at most coffee places like Starbucks or Second Cup.
"Proper" tea, I think is tea made from the actual tea plant, so most herbal teas and tea made from different plants are out, but that hardly matters for this thread, and I don't bother with the idea when I have my annual tea party on my birthday. I just remember one guy at a store where I was looking for Rooibos tea saying that they didn't carry it because it was technically a herbal tea and not real! Hoity toity tea store, that. I'm having some Assam tea that I bought a while ago. I nice change from my usual morning Red Rose. |
Snobby tea store. D:
I personally like some herbal teas (although some I've tried have made me gag). At present, I'm really loving the Chocolate Chai by Zhena's Gypsy Tea. :) |
Assam tea, I like mine with a splash of milk and honey in the mornings with fruit topped oatmeal and toast, makes for a filling breakfast
I can't wait till February 9th, it will be my birthday and I get to have my annual Loli tea party with my friends at the local tea-house. They are very nice and have a wide varieties of teas and small meals. I have had one of those Chai tea latte's from the Kurige coffee machine One serves, they are pretty good with a dash of milk in them to cut out the heat of the steam |
Cool. My brother has a Tassimo, which is alright but we haven't really used it for tea.
I usually have just sugar over honey but I've taken to using either rock suger or Taico brand sugar that actually a slight molassesy taste to it. I pretty much don't white sugar anymore unless it's all I can get. |
"This is my kind of thread~, I just adore tea~. ❤", Hatter grinned, "Does any one have suggestions for a nice sweet tea?". |
By "sweet" do you mean with sugar or sweet in it's regular taste?
My choice would be DavidsTea "Glitter and Gold" I think it's called. It's a black tea with cloves, orange, and vanilla I think. It also has gold and silver sugar balls in it that give it a shimmery appearance in the cup. It's one of my favourites, though I add a little bit of rock sugar (based on sugar beets so it adds some sweetness without sugar "taste") and milk. |
My favourite tea is Darjeeling made by Twinning. Followed by Earl Grey, English Breakfast and Irish Breakfast. <3 Sometimes I take my tea with milk, but most of the time I don't, I find it's just easier to make with just water, and i'm always too lazy to do otherwise.
