Awww.... Zeke's so cute! Hmm.... never considered Norwegian Forest Cat. It never showed up when I was going through cat breed web sites. Could be. I know he's mixed with something though. That ruff is way too specific to just be hoe his fur turned out, lol.

Ugh. Long day. Just got on the computer now and had only two hours of sleep last night. Blah. Was trying to carry groceries upstairs, unpack them, and feed my dog at the same time. He got a fancy meal today for his belated birthday, which was on Monday. He's 13 now!.

Was pondering the animals running around the various households in my family and it seems that for the most part, myself and my siblings are dog people and my cousins are cat people. My cousin has the maine coon mix, and my other cousin's oldest has a cat named Friday, a bengal mix. She's black but you can still make out some spots and she has the longer tail. She tackles one of the dogs in the house so she can clean him all the time, and never fails to get stuck up trees routinely. My cousin doesn't even need to give her name or address to the fire department any more. ;).

Monty (my Cavalier King Charles spaniel) met Friday once, the first cat he's ever encountered. He gave her a sniff, she gave him a smack on top of the head, and he blinked a bit and wandered off. My brother in law is fond of referring to Monty as "the cat" because he doesn't usually bark much, doesn't lick faces or hands or bounces around people's feet, and he does not beg: he insists. :D

But they're so furry and soft. Not many pets can actually -jump- in your arms without bowling you over.

I like pretty much anything friendly enough to let me pet it XD Right now I just have cats cause they're easier to take care of if you have a small place and full time job, but I'd love to have a dog someday. I like rodents too, but wouldn't want to own one cause I don't want to mess with the cage, lol.

I like the chinchilla cause they can be outside the cage.. they are smarts :3

Yeah, that would make it better. Still, cages are a bigger hassle to clean than kitty litter boxes and those are about as much of a hassle as I want to deal with, lol.

If I were to get a rodent again it would be another rat. Infinitely superior to hampsters in my view, though my hampster was awsome while he lasted. They aren't nocturnal, so no running on wheels or shaking the cage door through all hours of the night, they don't kick shavings all over the floor, and they are pretty homey creatures, in that when they get out or wander loose (something we would allow quite a bit) they could usually find their way back to their cage when they felt like it. And it's really fun to answer the door on halloween with rats on your shoulders. :D

The pet and even kid situation with apartments is getting so bad here that there was even talk about passing some manner of legislation to limit what appartments can demand since so many people with pets and even kids are finding it really hard to find affordable places to stay. If i could have any pet I liked, (and not need a job so I could look after it easily) I'd look into a sugar glider.

I've heard rats are really good pets. They're supposed to be really social and smart and friendly.

I knew someone with a sugar glider once, it was really cute. ^^ They're kind of high maintenance from what I've heard though.

I liked my rat Basil. He was fat, but he would stick around when I let him wander. I actually lost him on the first day because I left the cage door open and I was near tears looking in my room, and then I looked up from rooting through my clothes shelf and there he was...about two inches away on the shelf above and looking at me. He wasn't there before and apparently just came out. Hi favourite haunt was behind the fishtank and he could usually be found there if he had been wandering for a bit.

We did have to padlock the cages eventually though, because both rats (my sister's and mine) could open the doors.

My older sister had a rat, Ben, that she used to take camping that would follow her around on the ground while she walked about. Cute guy. :)

Awww.... that sounds so cute! If I ever get a rodent as a pet, it'll probably be a rat.

They are cute. Need to be handled a lot though, like any pet, especially early so they get used to it. I had another rat that I couldnt' spend as much time with and it was a little neurotic at times.

The tails are a little creepy if you aren't used to them but I'm hardly concerned about them anymore. They're quite clean when they aren't running through troughs in areas of questionable sanitary conditions. Still going to stay a dog person though. :) And cat tolerant ;).

I feel for you Lauv. My poor pastey white vampire skin can only manage about 10 minutes of direct sunlight before I'm doomed to headaches and space for the rest of the day.

Okay, well not totally pastey white; dogs insisting on being outside and all.

I do not like being outside. Mom and I went to see her foot doctor, the taxi dropped us off.. we finished, called the taxi to come back and get us.. took her an hour.. I had to stand out side! it was HOT. and I nearly passed out..
