It seems to me that there are more "she"s than "he"s on avatar sites, so it's a reasonable assumption if you're unsure. :P

Monorea 12-17-2015 03:39 PM

Exactly and men on the net arent as offended being called she as women are being called he. At least that's my experience.

littl3chocobo 12-17-2015 07:19 PM

assuredly they mind but you have to understand that it's a very uncomfortable thing to /say/ you mind. a person's need to be recognized as something is much more acute when it is a fight and a struggle to get said recognition

Monorea 12-17-2015 07:23 PM

You can't say that for people you don't know chocobo.
Some just want to be something for themselves not for others.

I have to admit, I don't like making a whole deal about my preferred gender. it is really awkward to talk about. I didn't even like clarifying it for cho. there are definitely a lot of people that are uncomfortable having to correct others at all, let alone as a constant thing. it's a good rule of thumb to do your best to always remember, even if they don't get upset when you mess it up. and if all else fails, just ask again.

Tas 12-17-2015 07:50 PM

of course, chocobo makes it difficult because he doesn't have a proper avatar that people can imply his preferred pronouns from. :P

that's why I just try not to make any assumptions about anyone.

littl3chocobo 12-17-2015 08:06 PM

i actually actively say 'he' right away and even go out of my way to offer my gender in public places so it is easy to find out without having to ask. i want to make it so i am not making people uncomfortable in that department, hell on most site i have been on i put it in my signature

i have actually been debating putting it here too since there are so many newbies

Tas 12-17-2015 08:12 PM

sometimes I correct people when they get mine wrong, sometimes I don't.

just depends on how I'm feeling that day.

littl3chocobo 12-17-2015 08:13 PM

totally fair~ when i was a teen i was so andro(and dressed so andro) people would confuse me often so there would be days where i would correct and days i would not bother XD

Tohopekaliga 12-17-2015 08:14 PM

I always figured you reveled in people being unsure, AC.

yessss! >:D

well, less so lately. That was fun, back when I was less sure of my own gender, but now I generally prefer female. There's a reason I made that fairly unambiguous with my username and avatar here.

Tohopekaliga 12-17-2015 08:58 PM

Ah, alright. :P

"Anna Claire" definitely leaves no questions, unlike "Lysis."

Tas 12-17-2015 09:02 PM

yup, you got it! :3

littl3chocobo 12-17-2015 09:04 PM

and 'chocobo'? XD or is that something only a bill can discern?

Tohopekaliga 12-17-2015 09:05 PM

Admittely, cho, I thought you were female before you told me otherwise.

littl3chocobo 12-17-2015 09:06 PM

well i /do/ talk like my grandmother and dress like a great grandmother XD
