XD is there so much dif between highschool and collage?
|
@choco: Well, from what I've understood there's an event coming up (I hope this is indeed still the case) so that should make the site a lot more active :3. I'm sad to hear that newbies don't post too often T.T.
@Poggio: I normally like art, though I don't know too much about modern art ^^;... except that there are some pieces of modern art that I would not call art... |
Yes.
The college courses it is more selective and teachers can choose to omit part of their lessons because they make the test. So if you don't cover it, oh well. The teacher also really makes the class. For example I hated my modern art teacher and she had an accent so it was really hard to gather everything she said. Luckily for me I memorized a lot of what was going to be on the test so I could easily do the slides and managed to make a c. But also unlike highschool, one Essay could make or break you. And if the teacher only assigns say two essays and a test, you fail two you fail the class. <3 I can tell you that the staff is working their balls off to make this event happen. |
....oh.... ok that is a big difference
i hear it will be good~ |
Alright ladies and Gents I am off to work ciao ciao.
|
have a great day poggers<3 you and ultima both actually
|
@Poggio: I can't wait to see the event then, if they're working this much on it it's surely going to be incredible :D!
A failed test/exam could never break anyone's grades here no matter if it's high school, college, etc. Normally, besides the occasional test/pop quiz/exam, the teachers make sure to question a few students about subjects orally and grade them on their answers each day or every few days, then there are also the projects some of the teachers ask students to do and prezent for more grades. The teachers here can't really decide what to teach and what not to teach, they're required to teach the entire lesson plan so they can rush things a few times or, if they believe they're really behind, ask teachers from other disciplines to let them come over and hold their lesson instead, if not ask the students to stay a little longer. The only time where failing one single exam can break you would be during the Baccalaureat period(s), if you fail one you fail the entire thing and have to retake it... The same is somewhat true in University as well, but you can just retake the exams and they won't hold you back a year (though I'm not sure if they'll pass someone who failed most of their exams at the second go as well ^^;). EDIT: Bye Poggio, have a good day :). |

Amd i hate history and memorizing names and dates of any kind. |
the what period?
|
History was one of my favorite classes in high school xD. I just found it interesting :3.
I din't like geography too much though, the names of some mountain peaks and some of the numbers were really annoying to me >.<, at least with history the dates were in a certain order >.>... |
Constructivism and Suprematism. About 1915-23. I dont get it and i hate it X.x
|
*dies* be back in an hour if anyone is still here then
|
Bai bai choco. I might be here o3o
|
@Ultima: Well, I just googled both and while I can see why you'd find Constructivism borinG, Suprematism does seem to be a little interesting. I still prefer modern abstract art to it though xD.
@choco: I hope to see you again in an hour then :3. |
Noooo I love classical stuff XDD Venuses and still lifes and landscapes and pretty shading and soft colors. Hehe, I hate modern abstracty stuff. But thats just me :s-sweat:
|
I also enjoy classical art a lot, and the baroque and gothic movements/styles are absolutely stunning as far as I'm concerned :D.
I also quite like certain anime/manga styles (not all, but quite a few). |
