I have to say, we had quite the amount of Catholics in school so I did always to a little rebelling toward their suppressing manner.

It depends on the individual. Catholicism is the more open of the christian religions, especially since the changes made by Pope John Paul II, however you still have people who are jerks. Take me for example, I am a Catholic who is more non-denom, in a sence that my belies are contrary to that of the Church itself. I do not go to Church because Jesus said that a place where people assemble for prayer should be avoided, and that prayer can be done anywhere. Likewise I treat everyone with the respect they are owed, and I have Budhist, Muslim, hindu, and protestant companions.

Lioshika 01-17-2012 11:23 PM

The ones I had in school were very rude and aggressive in shutting down any other religion.

Cronislee 01-17-2012 11:28 PM

Sounds like the Baptists around here. One actually walked up to me while I was at work that tried to convert me by reminding me how "We're all damned to the pits of hell for our sins, unless our damned souls can be saved! Have you been saved? Because if you've been saved, we dont need you- we only want those who are Damned!"

Lioshika 01-17-2012 11:33 PM

XD They're around here too. I can't stand it.

Cronislee 01-17-2012 11:35 PM

Lol, it all relies on the individual people. Some are zealots, some are laid back, and some are like me. Whether the latter is a good thing, I cant tell ya :P.

Lioshika 01-17-2012 11:39 PM

I just get tired of people forcing their religion. I've had customers try too. -_- yes, tick off your register lady.

Cronislee 01-17-2012 11:43 PM

Lol, I know what you mean. I Went to highschool with it, from catholics and protestants. I'm a biblical scholar, so I can actually hold my own when I say "You dont know what your talking about."

Lioshika 01-17-2012 11:46 PM

I'm no biblical scholar and I don't pretend to be one. I just know there are some things they did because of health, like fish on fridays because it was fresh. Jewish didn't eat the back of pigs because the potential of being sick from E. Coli

Cronislee 01-17-2012 11:48 PM

Bingo. The funny thing is, alot of Jews and Muslims dont realise that.
Or alot of people in general.

Lioshika 01-18-2012 12:05 AM

i know. I've had arguments with a lot of people over it.

Cronislee 01-18-2012 12:09 AM

People tend to forget that the Torah, while a religious text, was how the Jews recorded their laws, history, and methods of staying healthy, including proper hygine.

Lioshika 01-18-2012 12:18 AM

OH I know. Trust me. But nobody listens to me really.

Cronislee 01-18-2012 12:21 AM

Your in good company then :P. It wasn't until around my senior year that my class realised I knew a lil' bit of everything. It took a while before my facebook group realised that I could hold my own if they tried to debate me.

Lioshika 01-18-2012 12:25 AM

I don't have a face book group.

Cronislee 01-18-2012 12:29 AM

I was made an administrator of it, and then it's spokesmen, because of my expertise with warriors and history... sooo pretty much I'm the reigning geek supreme ^^;. But I've gained a pretty good following, and gave an interview once, so that was fun.
