hate that crocodile dude >->

hyjin 05-03-2017 09:23 AM

I hate any res enemy... It's hard to pull hits with ilm

ml1201 05-03-2017 09:32 AM

@Coda
So if I can wait long enough he won't have that? Will he still do the 'I kill you in one hit' if I whittle him away? Because with my Aizen team he basically takes me out in one hit, which is why he kind of ticks me off.

Demonskid 05-03-2017 09:54 AM

i think you have to get him down to like half before finishing him off.. any lower than that or 1 hitting him causes his 1hit ko >o<

ml1201 05-03-2017 09:59 AM

So I've been doing it all wrong with him then. x'D That's gonna be a bit hard then, and how many turns do I have to wait?

Demonskid 05-03-2017 10:08 AM

I dunno.. my BOdin team is tanky ono he kills me cause Odin dunno how to hold back >:o

hyjin 05-03-2017 10:21 AM

Yeah with ilm 2 light and fire plus 2 other color combos usually equal 1hko

Coda 05-03-2017 10:47 AM

It's a question of HP, not of time. The "RES" icon means that the monster will survive being one-shotted, like the Resolve leader skill of the ogre-type monsters. When the boss is dropped below a certain threshold (for most bosses, it's 50% or 75%) the icon goes away, and if they heal up, it comes back.

Most bosses with Resolve also have powerful abilities that trigger at very HP in order to punish you for triggering it. Some bosses just heal to full; others will multistrike you for huge amounts of damage or use a gravity effect and then hit you again. Be careful; these abilities key at HP ranges, not off of triggering Resolve, so if you wear them down into that range without killing them, they'll still use it, so the recommended strategy is to do the lowest amount of damage that will get them past the threshold and then spike them the rest of the way down.

According to PDX, Sha Wujing's threshold is 75%, and his retaliatory attack is a 99% gravity followed by a 19k-damage 2-hit attack. Hit him with a couple of 3-matches to soften him up before spiking him down the rest of the way.

If only ilm team did not nuke

ml1201 05-03-2017 07:01 PM

That will be a good thing to keep in mind. Thanks Coda!

Coda 05-03-2017 07:13 PM

For 75% Resolve, Ultra Gravity is a reasonable strategy.

I've been known to run two Ultra Gravity skills because stacking them brings the target down to 49% HP, which will element-shift two-color enemies, disable 50% Resolve, and skip past some attack scripts.

Worst case scenario, attack with your sub elements and try not to swing with an unresisted main element, but I've never met a team that swings so hard that a single 3-match will one-shot a threat that has Resolve.

ml1201 05-03-2017 07:36 PM

Very true I'll have to keep that in mind.

Illusion 05-04-2017 09:43 PM

Or you can just use a Kenshin and make a ton of crosses and 1 hit KO satan.

ml1201 05-04-2017 10:32 PM

It's not satan I'm having issues with. x'D Its croc guy. ^^;

Demonskid 05-05-2017 08:41 AM

hyjin 05-05-2017 09:03 AM
