Whenever I make a new avvie, I always start with hair/face/head. Pretty much always. Second is always the waist. Sometimes I start with feet, but it's usually head and waist. Everything else seems much easier to fill in afterwards.

Hehe, I usually tend to find one item I want to use, and build my avatar around that. o 3o

I try to start with an item, and a colour combo. Usually at least five colours.
