Bad dreams, but mostly just....the sleep quality isn't there.

Alpha 01-22-2014 04:11 PM

*nods* Understand. Been there before.

Fauxreal 01-22-2014 04:36 PM

Thankfully, after I put a piece of rose quartz by my bed, I've been having some pretty great dreams.

Espy 01-22-2014 09:02 PM

Recently, most of my dreams have been playing on my real-life fears. They aren't as fantastically horrifying as some of my nightmares from years ago, but they've been...much more realistic.

Alpha 01-22-2014 09:05 PM

Ouch...that definitely has to suck. Maybe your subconscious is trying to tell you something?

Espy 01-22-2014 09:06 PM

Did you see my FB post from yesterday? I think I'm having such shitty sleep quality because 1.) I'm not eating properly and 2.) my brain isn't shutting down for the night.

Lawtan 01-22-2014 09:49 PM

Nyquil? Teas meant to encourage relaxation? Heater pillows?
What is keeping your brain from relaxing? I know on my end it is a fear of sleep/missing out on something.

Espy 01-22-2014 10:17 PM

I just...it might be genetic, to be honest. My dad has the same problem of getting his brain to shut down for the night, and since I get most of my genes from his side...

...That worries me.

Lawtan 01-22-2014 10:33 PM

Trick it? Exercise until you are tired at night? As to genetic...that was a possibility for the oxygen/on your side thing. (Recommended for my apnea)

...Dim the light on your computer monitor. I recall something about the blue of monitors impeding sleep...

Espy 01-22-2014 10:35 PM

My monitor's always at the second-to-lowest setting on this rig.

Lawtan 01-22-2014 10:57 PM

Find something that wears you out? Were I there, I'd work on karate, or walk for miles.

Fauxreal 01-22-2014 11:02 PM

I have no idea what could help you. All I know is I love my pillow.

Espy 01-22-2014 11:03 PM

Ugh, I would if it weren't twenty below freezing here.

Lawtan 01-22-2014 11:04 PM

...you have the exercise room on the bottom floor of the dorm...

Alpha 01-22-2014 11:05 PM

Exercise is normally good, but reading and other such activities can do quite well dependent on your personality.
