Today's his birthday.

There's something else for you.

Fulkth 10-09-2010 02:11 PM

Gasp, oh really? =o
Wow! And the other day, I listened to a rendition of something Beatles! A band was playing it!

johnny 10-09-2010 02:12 PM

I listen to something Beatles every day.

Since they're my favorite band and everything.

Fulkth 10-09-2010 02:15 PM

So is your favorite member John Lennon?

johnny 10-09-2010 02:17 PM

Yes, he is.

Fulkth 10-09-2010 02:25 PM

The only reason I know about him is because some girl in high school would always talk about him.

Otherwise I would know nothing about him.

I have the Across the Universe soundtrack... I can't really stand the original Beatles versions.

Fulkth 10-09-2010 02:31 PM

Sorry, my siggy is so long. Currently updating it.

I don't really understand how you can like the Across the Universe versions but not the Beatles versions.

Unless you just don't like male singers. Because a lot of the Across the Universe ones were sung by women and multiple artists in a sort of medley.

I saw Across the Universe and the song arrangements were, for the most part, exactly the same - the only huge differences were "I Want To Hold Your Hand" was slower-tempo (which I did like a lot), and "With A Little Help From My Friends" was a medley of the Beatles version and the Joe Cocker version.

Also:

The Beatles had hundreds of songs. Across the Universe had about fifteen of their big hits. So, not really good to judge from.

I dunno, I just don't seem to like how the originals sound...

Favorites from the Across the Universe soundtrack are "I Want You (She's So Heavy)," "With A Little Help From My Friends," "Revolution."

It could just be their voices that you don't like. My husband doesn't like Paul Anka's voice for some reason.

Yeah, those are all amazing Beatles versions. "I Want You (She's So Heavy)" is especially awesome and bluesy, "Revolution" is amazing in both Beatles versions (there's a more rocking version and a slow-tempo version) and I love "With a Little Help From My Friends" but it's not my favorite style, so I lesser-love it, but still.

You're just insaaane, Frood. xD

I truly am Hoopy. My music choices are random.

johnny 10-09-2010 03:04 PM

I can't really define my music choices as random.

...Well, I guess I could in that my iTunes frequently skips from stuff like "Love Potion #9" to African chanting from the Lion King Broadway show. So to a passing individual, it sounds random, but I really do have specific tastes.
