I love wrapping paper, but not wrapping. Have to resist piling up on nice ones because they would never be used.

you can paper sturdy bags with a bit of instant-stick glue

You could wrap it in a bit of cloth. Then it is reusable and pretty.

I don't need to wrap anything, though. Just like the paper. There doesn't need to be an alternative.
