I say Captain America : Winter Soldier on Sunday. It was pretty good, but a bit of a depressing story. I liked the Iron Man movies more because there was more humor in them.

Hmmmm. I'd go back to STO, but I guess my problem with games that are based off actual lore is that I find it hard to play if I don't know the lore. Like...SWTOR = I need to do a lot of research before I'm comfortable with certain things, and that gets rather time-consuming. I'm also not a huge fan of the Star Trek series.

....At least, less of a fan than my dad is. He doesn't get too excited about Star Trek, either, but he likes it more than Star Wars because it's what he grew up with.

I've seen Iron Man 1 & 2, but not #3.

I haven't seen the Croods, but I do like animated movies.

I've been a Star Trek fan ever since TNG in the eighties. It's been one of the shows that I have watched since childhood, so I have quite a fondness for it. STO is not exactly super-canon, either, so you don't need to know everything about the lore to enjoy it.

(The combat system also bothers me. I have high expectations for combat systems. I blame TERA and Blade and Soul.)

You can't win them all, Espy. It certainly has a better combat system than other games, though it's not my favorite by far. To each their own, I suppose.

TERA and BnS combat systems are like...uh...
Well, okay, a lot of MMORPG combat systems are where you choose a skill, click on an enemy and use it. Your positioning does not matter; if you are too far away, the game will move your closer until you're within range to use the skill/attack, and the enemy will hit you no matter where you are.

In TERA and BnS, if you fire off a skill and aren't close enough, it just doesn't hit at all. Your position relative to the enemy DOES matter; if the enemy has a cone AoE attack and you're in that cone, well sucks for you. As a Priest in TERA with a back attack racial boost, I tend to run behind enemies and snipe them with ranged from behind. By the time the enemy actually turns around, I'm long gone. And there's no "currently targeted" enemy; all you have to do to attack someone else is just turn towards the other enemy and attack. Targeting only happens with heals and buffs from the player's side.

Well, there are other differences, too, but those are a bit hard to describe. You'd have to actually play to know. I think a lot of not-multiplayer RPGs use this system, though...?

Also, yeah, TERA can be pretty taxing on a laptop. And for my priest, I decided to chose the race that was...the most unlikely to be priest. Their racial bonuses are more geared towards warriors (dual bladers) and such.

Vincent -- Pirates 101 and Wizards 101 had a system sort of similar to that, and the browser games I was talking about are those really shitty browser MMORPGs.
