Sorry. My brain's a little scrambled right now. I've been putting off lunch.

Thanks for the information! Hope you've had your lunch now. :D

Gloaming Brook was the first Nocturnalis (Halloween) event item I ever got. It's a cool item, but can be hard to use with more detailed backgrounds.

Den 04-23-2016 09:52 PM

I like that we're getting more background items.

I like backgrounds in general, but I'm really fond of nature stuff.

littl3chocobo 04-25-2016 10:13 PM

About ready to tell my parents to sod off about me driving to the nearest big city to find work. There's just nothing here that wouldn't mess up my back worse than it already is (I worked in a job during high school that required back braces, but it turns out those did almost as much harm as they were designed to prevent, so my lower back's a mess), would be something that pays a living wage, that I'm physically able to do (again, tied into the back thing, plus bad knees and an old whiplash injury that never really got dealt with properly), lets me have my weekends free (I do conventions and other shows where I sell artwork and do commissions), and would be something I don't mind doing for long stretches (which rules out retail jobs. I've done it before, and never again, unless they raise the legal minimum wage to a livable wage, which is a huge battle at this point).

So, how is everyone?

Tam I am 04-27-2016 07:07 PM

I am happy because this happened.

littl3chocobo 04-27-2016 08:15 PM

o.0 is that directed at me, choco?

littl3chocobo 04-27-2016 08:35 PM

it was, sorry XD

Den 04-27-2016 08:48 PM

I kinda suspected... But thing is, I have to be careful not to get too lippy, lest the 'rents kick me out. I've been homeless once before. It wasn't fun, and my hair was sacrificed due to not being able to care for it properly.

littl3chocobo 04-27-2016 08:53 PM

they'd throw you on the street for wanting to protect your body?

Den 04-27-2016 09:02 PM

For being a mouthy brat (in their eyes). We've already had one incident where they asked me if I'd rather be sleeping under a bridge (Long story short, Dad decided to do something he thought was funny (Invade my personal space while I was distracted and jab his fingers into my sides), and I reacted very negatively).

Lawtan 04-27-2016 11:51 PM

Sounds like a good day, Tam. :)

...I am not sure I could and maintain my health with family like that.
*Hugs Den*

ZenKitty 04-28-2016 12:26 PM

Glad you had a fun day, Tam.

Your home situation sounds really challenging, Den.

Tam I am 04-28-2016 02:25 PM

Thanks, guys.

And there are days that I almost wish I was American, so Den could come camp at my place. I'm bossy, but I don't think I'm mean. I hope I'm not.

I would rather travel up to Canada. America stinks.

Alberta has free healthcare. Not dental, but most the other stuff.

Lawtan 04-29-2016 05:57 PM

I'd offer my home...but the land and animals are the main plus. People...well...
*hides bloody knives*
What people?

(There are good people here, but if you don't want a headache, follow Linus's advice)

Do you have to wait a long time to get medical care, Tam?

That's still farther ahead of America. Even working full-time, when I had insurance, I couldn't afford a doctor's visit.

ZenKitty 04-30-2016 12:28 PM

A lot of the insurance plans have such high deductibles that it's pretty expensive even with insurance. That's one of the reasons why I know a lot of people who are paying the penalty of not having insurance versus purchasing one in the insurance marketplace. It costs less for them to just go without.

Lawtan 04-30-2016 07:43 PM

^Sort of one reason the current method doesn't work well. Other one being that the way US gov set up healthcare, it encourages price inflation in medicine and doctor pay.

Last time I went to a doctor I didn't. It was just checkup/blood test stuff, though.

I hear that a lot of Canadian doctors go to the States because they get more money there.

Lawtan 04-30-2016 08:09 PM

And American surgery (ignoring insurance companies) is more expensive than flying to the Philippines, getting the same treatment, and flying back.
