I'd have thought they'd have tried to get rent sooner than two years. But things like "garbage men won't check for you" and "don't take dares to touch electrified poles unless you want to lose your face and arm" are oddly specific Aesops.

Her rent was partly subsidized, so they were getting part of it, and apparently she had assistance for her bills too. They said when they got in the TV was still on.

Poor green man. I have a character with only half a face, but she's just a virtual doll. He was real and had to live with all those years of being the boogyman.

I actually would have liked to walk and listen to the guy. I understand that the "Green Man" bit largely was from when he left the local area - people closer by found him interesting for more than the scars. Problem being that some folk tried to keep getting him drunk & in trouble (Others walked with him to reduce that chance).

Random Side fact - Romantic love has the same neurochemistry as OCD and forms of dopamine-related psychosis. For some reason I find this humerus. On a positive note, it sort of shows that something classified as a mental illness can be a completely normal human thing. On the other note, I can call lovestruck folk this coming Valentine's day insane. xD

:P we're all mad here, Lawtan. I'm mad, you're mad, Tam's certifiably bonkers *ducks*k

(That's sort of the point/fun)
*Goes off to play with the world in my head*

I think I would have liked to be a walking partner too. He'd have been a safe loner to hang out with. I wonder if he still had a sense of taste. I could have fed him. *has never outgrown the child's love of giving food to things*

LOL That IS funny!

Actually, the certificate says I'm SANE. But it's several years old. *spinny eyeballs grin*

How about this world, Law?

Lawtan 02-11-2016 04:15 PM

Oh, I've wanted to try that world/game!
Reminds me of SCP-1678; Unlondon
(Some of my favorite SCP's - the Witch child, Un-London, the Reptile, and the Eye-pods)

XD Do you think things like that would fit in the library here? Is there a shelf for that kind of story presentation? And if you try it, lemme know how well you do? I just hit level 126 on my favourite game, which is just a little browser based social RP. I've found the princess, rescued her from the ice wizard, and now she's being a moo.

What does SCP mean?

Have you ever seen the game called 'Unravel'? It's a platformer puzzle game.

Secure. Contain. Protect.
Essentially Men-in-Black meets Creepypasta and fictional government experimentation.

Came up with Weeping Angels before Doctor Who...using a Dadaist humanoid life-size weird sculpture thing.

Also has a "Monster Birthing Blood Pool", a virus that turns you into clockwork, etc. Multiple fan games were made on the material.

Ahhhh. Which reminds me. Apparently 'Dr. Who' came from the Canadian version of 'Howdy Doody'. And so did William Shatner. But I'll take both statements with a grain of salt till I read them somewhere other than Wikipedia.

So, do text games count as stuff for library shelves?

Lawtan 02-13-2016 03:52 PM

I recall it being a show about History (Professor aka Doctor playing the Magic School TARDIS) that in order to be a bit "harder" on the science made it alien-oriented and added mystery & plot.

Howdy Doody...odd indeed.

Yes. They said that the original character on the Canadian Howdy Doody was Mr. X, who travelled in his Watsis box and taught history, and then the original 'Dr. Who' was meant to be a history teaching show.

Can we add these to the library here?

yep, it was originally meant to teach history and science - the stories that were set back in the past were for history, and those in the future/other planets were for science. in fact, the First Doctors first companions were a history teacher (Barbara) and a science teacher (Ian).

I'll add those as soon as I don't feel like I'm going to throw up...
I think I'll have to say something to the food store.

Edit: Food Poisoning, yay! Party!

Tam I am 02-14-2016 04:25 PM

Ack! *hugga Law*

Den 02-15-2016 09:15 PM

Aww, poor Law. *hugs*

ml1201 02-15-2016 11:24 PM
