then maybe they just messed up on that.
cause i have no idea. but you aren't hearing things xDD |
How did I not know this thread existed? >.>
To answer your question: 行く can be read as both いく and ゆく. The "yuku" pronunciation is an older one and is considered very poetic, while the "iku" pronunciation is the "official" one. So you'll often see music where the lyrics are listed as -te iku but the vocalist sings -te yuku. It's the same word. Edit: Not to mention that "-te yuku" just flows better when singing; the "~e i~" sound just blends into a single "ey" sound (in fact in casual conversation "-te iku" VERY frequently gets contracted to "-teku") while "~e yu~" is distinctly two syllables. Perhaps this is WHY it's considered more poetic. |
That makes sense ouo
and Coda didn't know I made this thread? D: shame shame.. you inspired me to make it >x< |
@coda:
welcome! and thank you. I am not well versed in the story behind many of the kanji. Grammar is more of my focal point at this point in time~ |
ono i thought i had a good deal of katakana memorised.. but i forgot most of them @-@ *goes back to the start*
|
Oh noes!
You been reading those stories? |

Social Security =w=, government stuff
|
but... SS is for older people yeah?

It's also for people with disabilities. And chronic injury can be considered a disability.
|
My mom's been on it for a long time now.. she wants me to get on it.. and so she called with out my acknowledgement and then woke me up to have me talk to them.
|

remember to put the translations some where in your post for mods who don't know japanese. :3 translation: hello, im dk, nice to meet you. |
Fauxreal, try the spelling "fo-ri-ru" フォーリール (or you could write it in romaji as "fooriiru" or less accurately but more English-friendly as "fohriiru").
|
I'm learning little by little - I'm starting to learn katekana (sp?) and hiragana (sp?) ~ Again I'm a horrible speller.
|
:3 I'm still trying to get my Katakana down >x< every time i learn some, something comes out and what i learned goes poof.. >x< good thing I got my Hiragana down *huggles*
|
I'm the kind of person who has to seriously practice every day, listen every day, write a little every day - and do the same stuff for at least two - three days in a row.
I listen to either AKB48, or anime every night for at least half hour. |
I got some good lessons off of Japanesepod101.com during a free trial... the kana video lessons very helpful ouo
|
What I'd really and truly love to get are childrens nursery rhymes, or baby songs, or some kind of music for babies. Usually these are simple songs and they talk slowly and clearly. <3 That's how I learned German. Though - I haven't practiced that in 10 years. At least....
|
I love the song Hotaru Koi ouo
I want to get the children's books like the Momotaro one x3 |
OH! I've never heard of those! I will look them up post haste! <3 Thanks!
|
http://life.ou.edu/stories/

I can imagine! My grand plan is to go teach next year in Japan... till - I don't know when. I guess it's yearly. I think I'd like to stay for more than one year. I have a friend there already. So! I'm super excited about it!
But I must practice! |
take the dk ono dk wants to go x.x
|
Well - how easy do you fit into luggage? HAHAHAHA!
Why not go teach in Japan as well? I'm looking for a job here and just can't find one. So! Thus go to where the jobs are! Plus! I really want to go to Japan! <3 |
go teach? xD I couldn't teach.. I fail english =w=,
|
You fail English? You seem to be doing fine here? What do you mean?
|
I always got bad grades in my english classes.. my grammar and spelling sucks. yay spell check x'D
|
I have horrible spelling. But I suppose my grammar isn't too bad. I always got good grades in English. Do you mind if I ask what grade you are in?!
|
I got my GED xD i'm done with school ;p
|
What about college?
|
dont have the money or the transportation to go to one. Mom needs me at home so i can't live in dorms..
I want to try to get some money to take japanese language course through Kent State >x< i also want to do some art classes and acting classes >x< |
There are loans, which is what I did. Plus I got a few grants. You have to work for them, not going to say it's easy but I liked college.
Why does you mom need you? Is she sick? |
she is.. old and falls a lot... last year she had a few surgeries and can't do much by herself anymore.
cant get loans and stuff unless you have the ability to pay them back =/ |
Okay so - here is how they work. First of all, you get a job on campus and pay off a little bit of the loan as you are going to school, AND! Once you get a job, from all those years at college, you get a great job, can pay your loans back and get your mom a a sweet nurse. <3
There is no one to help you with your poor mom. I've been a sick a long time and needed my mom to move in with me to help me. But I'm better - ish now. |
its hard for us to find help to the grocery store ono.. my older sisters hate mom for a stupid reason :/ so they wont help.. the second born was soo pissed we moved to niles instead of the place she lived so she kept my nephew away from us.. they moved to PA this month.. that really upset mom... mom's mental disabilities are luckily not bad and i deal with them. alright :3
fornow i'll self study ^^ |
I didn't know people with disability got SSI. You learn new things. <3
