he shrugged "i used to work with amputees and coma patients. i have found it's easier to take care of the unwilling when they are asleep" he did not mention the nightmares. "and either way you'll be happier clean than crusty and dirt-covered"
Samuel narrowed his eyes distructfully, "I'm not sure I will be." He idly wondered where Leslie had worked with amputees and coma victims. Leslie had shown knowledge in some medical arts; so maybe he had worked at a hospital or something similar at one time?
"then you are a fool for sure" he turned back to his book.
"Better a fool then a murderer." Samuel shot back. He did not actually believe himself a fool and he had to remind himself that the other was a murderer so he also did not believe the other to be a murderer. Not that this would ever be said.
how was it the man could get under his skin, he found himself answering angrily "there are more ways to murder than snapping necks, don't assume yourself to be innocent of death"
Samuel cracked a grin and gave a chuckle. "I never said I was but I can't be classified as a murderer. A murderer is a person who commits homicide or who performs unlawful premeditated killing of another human being. Neither of which I have done. Therefor my hands are clean in that metoforical sense."
he threw the book to the side and stood up "you have not caused homicide you have caused genocide" he towered over the man "your company has killed more of my family and friends than i could ever match in a lifetime!"
Samuel shook his head, "My company may have but all I am is a technician. I just build the damn towers and code them; if that happens to have caused someone's death I gotta say they have problems and should be checked for suicidal tendancies." He then looked Leslie in the eye, "And what makes you think you the only one effected by the stupid choices of the corperation I work for?" Then he droped his eyes only to raise them again; a perfect mask of calmness. "And for one who deals with death I find your claim hard to believe."
he grimaced at the man's calm facade "and a viper's skin does nothing more than protect the viper" he clenched his hands and left. he felt like taking his anger out elsewhere
Samuel watched the other go; silent until he disappeared. "But can you condemn the child for the parents sins?"
he felt better by the time he had returned, his hands were a little worse for wear but he certainly was not a s angry as before, when he slipped in he noticed the man staring right at him "are you hungry yet?"
"Negative." Samuel replied instantly. He was not hungry and would probably remain so for quite some time. "I would not be adverse to a drink though."
he nodded ignoring the strange way the other was speaking. "you do understand you can't come with me this time though right?"
Samuel nodded, "I understand." It only made sense and he had not been expected to be released from his bindings.
he he slipped back out the door and headed for the kitchen. he found a pitcher and some glasses and filling the pitcher with water ascended back up the stairs
Samuel waited for the other to return simi-impatiently. He got the feeling something was off or wrong but he was not sure what it was. He tested the ties on his hands once more; he wanted to check security and make sure everything was alright.
