Anyone here ever read The Lincoln Lawyer? It's one of my favorite books now

Pisces 03-16-2011 02:51 PM

They're adapting that into a movie. D: I saw the preview for it yesterday.

.rousium 03-16-2011 03:51 PM

I haven't heard of it! What's it about?

Madam Kira 03-16-2011 10:11 PM

Yeah I thought that was a movie too.
Didn't know it was originally a book. ;D

Pisces 03-16-2011 10:13 PM

I've never heard of it at all, lol, except for the extended movie preview thing at the movie theatre. It looked pretty cool, one of the better movies, so I wouldn't be opposed to viewing it.

Marissa Tomei and John Leguzamo. (prolly butched both of those names) Doesn't look too bad. I don't think I would like the book, not really my style.

Aaahh...I have to pause for the Women of Otherworld books. I wanna read my Dalai Lama book. <33

.rousium 03-17-2011 01:24 PM

Yay! Such a super great book! I hope you love it but I know you will.

Pisces 03-17-2011 08:36 PM

My art teacher saw it yesterday and was all excited for me to read it. XD Ahh, I love my art teacher. <33 You'd probably like her. No nonsense person who is down to earth, but very spiritually aware.

.rousium 03-17-2011 10:08 PM

Yeah, I probably would like her. I like that description..spiritually aware. It's good stuff!

Are you liking the book?

Pisces 03-17-2011 10:44 PM

I'm adoring it! I have to go in small bits, and digest it slowly. Aaanndd the Women of the Otherworld books keep demanding my attention. I need two brains and two pairs of eyes.

.rousium 03-17-2011 10:56 PM

I'm glad that they all made ya happy tho. :)

I finished Mathilda and started The Castle of Wolfenbach. I really like the new one! Mathilda was...it was alright.

Pisces 03-17-2011 10:59 PM

Started out okay and then sort of didn't give off as good of an ending?

.rousium 03-17-2011 11:04 PM

Eh, more like it...well, I don't really know. It was a neat story but the author's style is just kinda strange? Which isn't to say it's unreadable just kind of a leap. It's very, very mopey. But..i'd be mopey too if my mother died in child birth and my father left me to an aunt who was cold for the first 16 years of my life only to come back and admit that he's in love with me and leaves again which in turn causes me to retreat into the woods to live as a hermit until I meet a man in the woods who has had his own share of tragedy but then eventually I just die.

Pisces 03-17-2011 11:15 PM

Wait, what? That HAPPENED to the author? Or is that the story? Either way, holy cow man. I definitely think some mope is called for. D:

.rousium 03-17-2011 11:17 PM

The story but it's said that parts of the book are autobiographical. When she wrote it she gave it to her father to print it and needless to say it didn't get printed - for a while.
