@ lawman ;
xD haha. I still don't know how poker is played. @-@ -gasp- o_o; you should at least try it even if you don't play much. its interesting. :3 /though it can be hard, there IS an easy option though. XD |
I just added an encyclopedic card game site to the library (under Miscellaneous). P for Poker (alphabetical).
Has basic rules. |
@ lawman ;
Ohh o-o Sounds useful. XD i'll check it out when I get the chance~ |
This time we played with two decks and it was hard...so many suits and pairs. Confusing...XD
Hi |
Psh. XD I bet. I have a hard time playing solitaire/spider solitaire with more then one suit. XD
Hi. :3 How's your day been going~? |
I know!
I played solitaire earlier and I won one game and lost the next. XD Good, just tired. |
Pshh. XD
Ohh but I can actually play that mine... game thing. pretty good. go figure. Have you ever tried it? I think it's called minesweeper~ Same here. Might go to sleep soon, so excuse me if I suddenly poof x.x |
Minesweeper, I hate that game..those mines are evil.
It's okay |
I actually kind of like it. XD
I guess I'm just cursed to completely not get simple games and can more easily understand complex ones XP Yeah my eyes are like adljfkd and I just don't really feel well in general. ._.' |
I thought you hated complex games... .-.
Minesweeper is a tad meh - can really waste your time sometimes. |
Well yeah It's a complex -simple- game. XD if you get it.
Idk how to describe it. ;~; i work weird, i sorry. It can. all it takes is one little mistake. x.x then again, all games are time wasters. x: |
True. Except perhaps games that tell a story/work like art...
Or games that allow you to meet people or sharpen your mind. *Sort of games I go for - multiplayer, story-based, RPG, deception, puzzle...and a bit of FPS* |
yeah. ;~; I'm normally too dense to get things unless they're right in my face. xD
I like all kinds, so yay. XD What other kinds of things have you played besides TERA and Neverwinter? o: (on a side note, any idea for what I should add to my chest or whatnot? I can't figure out how to improve this avi further. DX) |
A necklace?
A tie? IDK Hmm... TERA (first, and only - if you don't count Elder Scrolls Beta - MMORPG game) Neverwinter Nights (Favorite Game) Dragon Age (Is a "custom story wizard" and "multiplayer" away from being my favorite game) Amnesia: The Dark Descent (Horror game...just starting it) The Crooked Man (RPG Horror/Depression/Hope game) Dawn of War (Strategy game) Older Battlefield Series (Vietnam, BF2, and BF2142) - favorite two were 2142 (The mix of commander Strategy game, squad system, futuristic technologies that included multiplayer close quarters and flying battle fortresses, the drones that would help you shoot/spy, the cloaking device, sabatoge, FPS capture, and rather open playing field...all it needed were less bugs and destructable environments to make the game excellent) and Vietnam (Heavily moddable, was part of a group - =RockyTopRaiders= - and you can blast your favorite music out of a T57 for ragdoll shooting effects = me happy :3) World in Conflict - best strategy game (IMO) Age of Mythology - favorite strategy game Ned's Nightmare - most memorable childhood scholastic game. (Other memorable one being a pirate game with sea shanties) Town of Salem - awesome online deception game AdventureQuest - was fun as a kid Hmm...I've tried Crysis, Call of Duty 2, and Supreme Commander, but never got into them. |
I was thinking a behemian gem necklace or sorts.
I don't know how well a tie would go with this, haha. XD Out of all those I've only played Adventure quest... Sounds like you play alot of those technical games haha. And tell me how Amnesia plays out for you, if you want. So what don't you like in World of Conflict, if it's the best strategy game, but not your favorite? |
Well, the setting.
I prefer science fiction, historic, mythological, or fantasy genres. World in Conflict is the best Strategy game (I mean, it is the only one I know of that allows you to setup a squad in a certain member in a building, have the building collapse/fall apart piece by piece, and have "survivors" and "victims" of the collapse. It's story is also very strong, IMO, and for it to draw me without an ability to build a base, without being an interesting genre, and without it being roleplay at all...it is a pinnacle for its field. |
Sounds like it's rather well-done , then.
And this is an online game? I'm guessing. XD My idea of strategy games are stuff like Final fantasy tactics and the like. xD |
It's both online and singleplayer.
Ideal game for me: Creative environment (or the potential for it) Creative, immersive, or funny gameplay Good Storyline/developed characters (or the potential for it) Good userbase (Mod community/online community) Strategy or puzzles or the like - non-time controlled thinking. Not too much of an open world (Big issue with Skyrim - I was lost often on what to do, or where I was) Quirkiness (applies heavily to Nightmare Ned) |
Quote:
But when I DID try it, it was just. Too... older-ages and too expansive... Just really eh. But I see. My ideal game is a bit different from yours, then. xD |
What is it (your ideal game)?
*I did like the skyrim dungeons, though. Honestly, if I knew I had the time to sink into it, I'd make a NWN mod for Skyrim - Aribeth de Tylmarande, Fenthik Moss, and Aarin Gend forever!* |
What's a NWN mod? And what does it do? xD
Uhhh. Ideal game would probably be... Good graphics (not, like, Final fantasy 12-style. Those are too real. I like the latest Tales of- games' graphics. Anime graphics are better then real graphics for me.) Good music Good gameplay (always really important for rpg's) Unique gameplay Good customization (but not overly so) Customizable weapons/armors Alot alot of postgame content and secret content. And a good colliseum/arena I think that's about it... |
Ah...
I somewhat forgot the "good customization" And half the time, I mute game music and play my own. XD O.O postgame content? Cool. The only arenas I recall are the Neverwinter Nights arenas on multiplayer games. Neverwinter Nights mod = making a game modification that incorporates the original Neverwinter Nights story, characters (possibly some abilities) into Skyrim. Mod is short for modification. Modding communities add content to games, from quests, to characters, to weapons, to gameplay (hardest), to effects, to better graphics/appearances, to entire new worlds. |
Good customization is amazing, if done well~
I randomly make up stuff myself, and save it in random notes on the computer but eh. It's just for the fun of it. Also trying to figure out how to make some good customization on rpg maker, at the moment.. Ehh I don't have a good Ipod or what not, just an MP3 that's a battery eater, so I just go with the music haha. Though games like 'Dark Cloud 1&2, Rogue Galaxy, ManaKhemia, Atelier Iris, and on a stretch, Kingdom Hearts 1/2' have some really nice tracks to listen to regardless. Postgame content is what it's all about. Secret dungeons after/just before beating the game, a bunch of hard optional bosses, secret stores, what have you. All when the game is at the end or beaten, to add extra stuff to the game out of it's storyline. I love the challenge and over-poweredness of it all. A good rpg arena is pretty rare, though, sadly. Not too many games even have arenas at all, sadly. ._. Ahh. That sounds like it would be an interesting twist... Yeah I knew what mod is, just didn't know what the letters stood for. XD |
Oh...
I think you'd like the Cania and Illithid Space Station, then (from games in NWN) Cania: you are close to max level, after going through Halaster's Undermountain (Mad labyrinth) and launching a war of rebellion in the Underdark...and now were banished by the second most powerful Demon to a land of eternal lava and ice in a play for power/freedom, filled with demons and the Knower of Names - for a payment, you can obtain the ability to command the great demon...to be your maid. The Illithid base (and the whole section leading up to it) is traveling to Hell, Heaven, a barren post-technological world, and a wonky world...getting support so that the Illithid do not use their world destruction cannon...did I mention you cam from medieval/Rennaisance times? |
So wait, Never winter nights is like a whole collection of games?
Sounds... different.. XD Sorta like black butler, an anime... I'm guessing you've played through that before? |
Neverwinter Nights has 3 Campaigns (one is the story of Neverwinter's Tragedy, where a plague manipulated by sorcery and an ancient evil race stains the honor of the Jewel of the North, another involves retrieving artifacts stolen from your teacher, a Harper in hiding...which leads to the third one which was the Cania one), 4-5 "short stories" that added content and were open-ended (1 is a pirate game - must play, another involves the Shadowguard, another is the first of an incomplete "Witch stole your soul" series, and another has you take over a kingdom, as you are the child of a demon, favored by Mistress Death, and fighting your demonic illithid half-brother...while accompanied by a cowardly wererat, a scarred nymph, an exiled Aesir, and a libertarian Rakasha.), and...literally thousands upon thousands of mods...
Neverwinter Nights was a game whose stories were somewhat copied from Baldur's Gate, whose graphics are really dated, and whose gameplay is oldschool...but the stories, the characters, and most importantly, the fan material kept the game alive for almost a decade, spawned a similar (if better graphics/more buggy) sequel, and now has inspired an MMORPG with some modding ability. I want to really get to trying that one out, but it is not my first priority ;_;... Neverwinter is THE create-your-own-world/story/universe game of the 2000's (not necessarily the 2010's) |
Ah so it has it's own country so to speak. XD
It's such a big thing, kinda surprising I havn't heard more about it. /: Aww. Well don't worry you'll get to it soon. And even though you can't do it immediately, all the more time for the devolopers to fix up bugs or glitchees and add more and more stuff for you to do when you DO play it. :3 Ah. But arn't they making more stuff even now these days? o: If not or whatever, what would be the game of the 2010's in that case? |
I don't know (and it may be an exaggerated opinion, but essentially the Aurora Mod Toolset was somewhat like the Doom FPS engine of modding toolsets - a granddaddy of modern game modification toolsets.)
...here's the Vault, to give an idea... |
Oh. that sounds rather interesting...
And I see o.o -checks it out- I'm guessing you visit here alot? lol |
Well...Trisphee was the first forum I joined...so I'd say this was my equivalent to that, minus the ability to comment/participate (unless i made a mod...I made a short puzzle-based one...and I tried to make a massive one that was...err...so big that it crashed the game everytime I tried to playtest it...
|
Wow... What was the big mod supposed to do? o.0
And how are mods made? Do you code them or something? |
Well...
1 part coding 1 part storytelling/writing 1 part messing with basic 3D models 1 part scripting 1 part artistic design/layout 1 part linking it all together 1 part help from other public works 1 part music/ambiance ... I was trying to make a multiplayer world where my DM was a demigod whose mind was messed up due to guilt/life/etc...and was turning from a benevolent maintainer of balance and freedom into a tyrant...and you had to travel through the memories and the mind to free him...or assemble a coalition of other races to fight and end his reign, ending the "Sanctuary" and "Atlantis" ...It also had forest haunted by vampiric ghouls, a city where the backalleys were like Vampire: The Masquerade/gangs, rolling fields with caves linked to werewolf packs (transformations from human to wolf or vampire bat or the hybrids), a war between 2 villages, a job system for farmers, artisans, and heroes, a museum paying homage to AdventureQuest, NWN, and Monty Python, a piracy/sailing mission set, a "halloween event cavern" a Parlimentary system, a castle sort of showing what I like, puzzle systems, riddles, astrology, and likely several things I am forgetting... ...I was trying to make this when I was 14... |
So. A hell of a lot of work...
So you can make a multiplayer new world with a mod? o.0 O_o You were pretty advanced for 14, I'd say. It sounds rather nice. I'm so proud of you. :'3 |
Yeah...programming was not a good thing for me (still isn't really...)
Likely that was where I messed it up... I've learned a little since then... Meh. |
Not a good thing? That's... weird.
/won't inquire further though... Aw. Well there's always other stuff~ |
No, I am just somewhat bad at coding. I am trying to get better...but some of it does not make sense to me...
|
Well you can't beat em all.
I find coding really hard, myself. XD |
I did a bit of coding for LJ, back before it went to pit in a poulder. It was just minor modifications for layouts, and I once coded a simple Kissakae set, and I have to confess that I just copied down what I saw worked where, without understanding what it meant.
|
LJ? o.o A Friend of yours?
Ah. Well still, even doing that still takes some skill and something of knowledge. x3 You did what you could that worked under the circumstances. -nodnod- |
LJ is LiveJournal. A blogsite that used to be useful before it was taken over by a Russian who didn't care about the userbase outside Russia and totally ruined the site.
