What's that in girl size o.o men size confuses me

Well I'm a 16 in women's( which is what I am) but a 36 in men's..... now I can fit into the 34s but my tummy puffs up real bad and makes me look fatter then I am. I didn't have any clothes at my boyfriend's house one day and stolehis pants.
