I am sure something will come up and you will find the perfect avatar to inspire you. XD

I am going to try doing an exchange of squares with my friend for our gifts... she says she'd like to start knitting again once the semester ends for her. I'll be happy about that cause then I can talk about knitting woth her XD.

☁☂ That's cool Femme. I hope you have fun.~
I have been considering getting back into cross
stitching again. I really need to start doing it
again. I haven't done it for sooo long and at least
it would be a great source for me to help control
my stress that I seem to have a ton of right now.
I should look at the pattern I was working on and
see if it's something I might want to do again.

I also even went through my craft shelf and tossed
a bunch of things including my patterns I printed
from online sites and now I have a bunch less of
things. I might end up cleaning again because I need
to save space in case I am evicted from my home and
I know I won't do any of it anymore. ; ; I need to
do alot of things ~_~

I knew I had a lot of yarn, but in trying to clean my room I realized... I have even more than I thought x_o. I filled one big garbage bag and one smaller one, and there is still a lot left... probably could fill another one. DEFINITELY need to stop buying it for awhile... At least until I actually make some more things and ideally get rid of them either by gifting or selling. I bought a bunch of motif books in the past month. Mostly crochet, but also knitting. Motifs are the way to go for me right now... they use up small amounts of yarn, can be multiple colors and visually interesting, but don't have to be worn. Hats are great but it's not always practical to wear them, even though I do like the style of wearing knit and crocheted caps in warmer weather too. Motifs can be made individually and then put together later as a scarf or a blanket... Blankets are always usable inside the house. And pillows and the like...

☁☂Wow Femme that is a ton of yarn.
That sounds like a great idea though. Making
motifs sounds like a good way to go. So much
easier to do things with them then I guess.
I really need to get back into crafting again.
Mostly been messing around on my computer and
painting my nails. And now I am doing different
things with my nails too. Not too artsy yet
though. Can't since I suck at using my left hand.

I have lots that needs to be used. I crochet and I'm crocheting little mochi from Hetalia to be sold off for artist alley and they are cheap

Me sister was experimenting with different nail painting techniques today, too. Been working on my room for a couple of hours, now... it still looks beyond crazy but it is slowly getting better. WIPs seem to appear from nothing haha. I have been unraveling some and don't know what to do with the ones tha I intend to keep, but I guess I'll figure that out...

Dawn 05-16-2012 05:10 PM

Haven't done much crafts lately. Came across a few pair of knitting needles but I don't knit.. never had the urge to learn. I'm hoping to get together with my neighbour's granddaughter again and do some more pottery one of these days.

☁☂ Femme- Cool. What kind of things was
she trying to do?

I hope you can figure something out with the
things you find. Have fun exploring your room~

Chloe- Ooo what kinds of things do you make with
pottery? And I hope you can get together with
her too~

One of the best things about knitting for me is how little you need available to do it. Just some string and sticks, as it's said. You can get as fancy as you like, but it can also be very simple. With pottery you need clay, which in the suburbs isn't exactly available at every store, and you need a place to fire it... which means you're either rich, or live near some community or school which has a kiln. Most people also require a wheel which is another big thing... I like working with clay and have pieces from when I had ceramics classes, but I spend most of my time at home and transportation for me means public trans or a bike... xP.

EDIT: Saiyouri well she tried an ombre effect. It only turned out ona couple of nails cause she was impatient with drying but it seemed like it would be something that works well.

☁☂ I never liked pottery to be honest because I hated the clay
being stuck underneath my nails and that drove me
crazy. But it is a nice craft to do.

I don't mind that, and I keep my nails short anyway, but there are other obstacles, haha.

Indeed XD.

Picking up an old WIP ... well not the oldest, but... with bigger projects one of the obstacles to finishing them after laying them down is... I don't do a good job of keeping track of where in the pattern I stopped x_o. Fortunately I think I figured it out this time...

This is a bigger project in that it is a wide, fancy hood (pattern here: http://www.etsy.com/listing/97299860...pattern-alasse )... by no means a sweater, but still bigger / takes longer than the average hat and smaller scarves.

finish it you can post pics of what you have done
for it. It's so pretty~
