That's awful. D: I hope he's okay.

Batty 06-19-2011 11:54 PM

Lucid: 06-20-2011 01:25 AM

I've only coded BBCode before, and I'm good at that. x u x

You're good at EVERYTHANG Nighty. <3

Lucid: 06-20-2011 10:36 AM

well, that's a start. my first was html back when myspace was popular and I was like 13 or 14. then when I started on forums, bbcode was similar. my first program-writing experience, though, came from Ruby. Ruby's an easy language.

go. click that.
after I learned sorta how the concept of writing programs worked from tinkering around with Ruby, I took a Java class. Java is a lot harder to write in but it doesn't hurt to know basic things beforehand.

Nightmare 06-20-2011 10:45 AM

I'll try that, then. ouo
I mean - I don't want to go into the class knowing NOTHING.
I want to know some things at least, even if they're small.

Lucid: 06-20-2011 10:49 AM

yeah. Ruby is fun. I like to go through that tutorial for the heck of it sometimes. :3
do you know what language you'll be using in your class? if I had to guess I'd say Java (most intro programming classes are) but I wanna make sure.

Nightmare 06-20-2011 10:57 AM

Not sure, what languages are there ? (or some of them at least. xD)

Lucid: 06-20-2011 11:12 AM

there's.....A LOT. @.@

Most commonly used would probably be Java, PHP, Python, C, C++, Objective-C, Perl, maybe Javascript for web developers....a high school will probably teach Java, maybe PHP and Javascript, and maaaaybe C++. I really don't know what my high school taught because I quit going the year I would've taken a programming class. my community college (which was basically a glorified high school) taught Java and C++.

hey, I just found out there's a programming language named Lucid! it's used for data computation.
that's one important thing to note. there's so many languages because they're all good at different things.

Nightmare 06-20-2011 11:18 AM

LOL, Lucid you're a programming language. xD

Lucid: 06-20-2011 11:22 AM

but it's all about data. ;O; I'd much rather be object-oriented.

Nightmare 06-20-2011 11:28 AM

:c
How did you come up with your username, though ?

Lucid: 06-20-2011 11:34 AM

Lucid dreams, yah.
