i'll think about it! =)
|
Good! I can't stand how they take a genre and then just beat it to death!
Did you read 13 Reasons Why. It is a show on Netflix now. I read the book and thought it was very good. |
i didn't read 13 Reasons Why, but i did see some of some of the episode when my younger daughter (she's 15) watched it on Netflix.
|
Was it good? I know the book was pretty sad.
|
from what i saw it was good. younger daughter said it was very good!
|
I rarely read YA books, but this one was recommended to me by a young friend who has tried to kill himself several times. He wanted me to understand. Now I do.
|
i read YA books somewhat regularly, actually.
yeah... |
I hate bullying of any kind.
This book reinforced that for me. |
ah, i gotcha
|
Do you have a favorite book? I know its hard to pick just one if you are an avid reader. I try to keep a list and mark down if I really really liked it.
|
I have copies of books that I really liked or that meant a lot to me, stuck away in a box (until I get a proper chest) for posterity, to store along with all the journals that I have. In there is an old copy of Salvarore's Homeland which was the first fantasy novel I ever read, and my cheap copy of War and Peace that was something of an adventure in itself to read. I suppose I could leave little notes with each book explaining why I kept it. I have copies of the children's books that I liked as a kid put the side as well. I'm actually toying with the idea of cataloging the books I've kept into sort of a little legacy library, with kids books, some of the textbooks from school I've liked, and general reading.

i love all the books i read, but i guess my favorites would be the ones on my bookshelves, which include: the Harry Potter series, the Dune series, the main storyline in the Dragonlance series, anything by H. P. Lovecraft, the Supernatural books, the Vampire Diaries, the Incarnations of Immortality by Piers Anthony, the Illium/Olympos cycle the Star Wars'verse (book!verse).... yeah, it's like that.

I've had Dune on my shelf for some time. I keep reading other things. I've seen the mini series, but since I started looking more into science fiction writing, I figure I had ought to look at at least one of staples. I also have The Man in the High Castle by Philip K. Dick. It's also on my list of things to read. I have more than I can squish into my reading challenge.
|
Dune: i've seen the movie and the sci-fi mini-series. i like them both. i've read the books from Dune to Sisterhood of Dune, and that's a LONG list - it's from Dune to Sandworms of Dune and all the prequels and between-the-books novels too.
i've read the Man in the High Castle, and now i'm ready for Season Three!!! =) |
Head's up! I looked up Popsugar's reading challenge (where my school challenge got it's idea) and found the 2017 one. I'm going to tackle this one too, since the books left on my shelf don't have categories. Here's the link to the blog:
Popsugar 2017 Reading Challenge *note, not sure what Popsugar actually is about, so can't vouch for whatever else is on their site. |
I like that list, I downloaded it and see how long it takes me to fulfill that one too!
I like Philip K. Dick I have read Man in the High Castle and Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? He was a major LSD taker, that is why some of his books can be totally out there. I love Androids, I have read it four times! The series based on Man in the High Castle is on SEason 1 in Amazon Prime. I have a collection of books that I have read and truly loved. Every once in a while I have to get rid of them, I have so many books and I don't want to buy more bookcases. |
