Oh, I've just been playing with words since I was a small child. My grandparents had a complete set of very thick dictionaries, as well as a thesaurus and quite a few encyclopedias. I'd spend hours on them, looking up and cross-referencing.

Most avi sites the admins and mods act ...well, Iwon't complain cause I have never had any problems,but it must be hard to keep everyone inline. Here there doesn't seem to be many issues about keeping people inline! |

Mods can be good, but I always found, especially on Syn, the rule about staying on topic a bit stifling. It really kinda shut down threads and conversations. I mean if you are talking about thermal drapes, then start talking about the weather, then start talking about how you don't like winter, that was off-topic. smh!
Also the necroing thing, geez why not pick up a thread that people may not even realize is there! |
I think it makes sense to make new threads for new topics, but to specifically ban drifting off topic is unnecessary.
Further, necro-posting is not in itself bad, hence no ban here, but I think it is usually not a bad idea to start a new thread to discuss something if the thread is long dead. People talking in the old one might not even be around. |
I totally agree with you about that. I might still start a new movie thread, depending on how many people hop on the one that died in SEptember.
