I love black and white shots, but again most of the ones I took were in natural daylight. I wouldn't know how to set a shot up with light boxes and flash to get the right effect in. What kind of picture do you need to take?

@Deli; it's usually just knowing some stuff and for the rest trying out. When you use a softbox, it usually takes like 10 times moving it before you have it in the right position. I love to also put a lamp behind the person, for the extra effect x3 |

Hmm. I'll have to remember that. I'm not very good with portraits. Now with pattern being the theme do you have any cloth or furniture that has a pattern in it? Even a border on a plate might fit that theme, depending on how you can look at it ( and the instructor)
