I don't think so, to my understand anything tisane has little to no caffeine.
I wonder now. . . ultimate caffeine tea of coffee and black tea? So my real question is does the taste of coffee leaves differ from the eban and how so? |
I've had Yuenyeung before. Hard to describe the flavor. It tastes more like tea than coffee, but it doesn't really match either.
|
I drink both of them but im no enthusiast or something like that. I simply drink them because I need at least to have some caffeine in my body daily. I drink a mug of instant coffee almost everyday in the morning before I start doing anything like going to school and stuff. As for tea, I just started drinking it but not that often compared to coffee. Usually when I'm studying at night where having coffee would be a terrible idea or whenever I feel diligent enough to grab a teabag and drip it into a mug of warm water. The brand of coffee im drinking is the original Nescafe Original Instant coffee. For tea, Twinings Jasmine Green Tea is what's available.
|
Twinnings green tea with jasmine is really good. it's my preference when I drink green tea.

David's has a coffee bean and tea blend. It's called Jumpy Monkey. It's quite good. Looked up Wize Monkey. Coffee leaf tea has a little caffeine, and apparently is a traditional thing made with excess leaves after the bean growing season is over. I keep some instant coffee around for the rare times I feel like it, though I've learned now that mixing coffee and tea (not sure if my Jumpy Monkey counts) is generally a bad idea for my stomach, unless it just *seems* like a bad idea because I turn to coffee if I start to feel crummy because it will sometimes help. |

I'm a pick about Green Tea, even though I don't have it a whole lot. I have serious lose leaf types, but my go-to is Yamamotoyama Genmaicha in a bag.
There's a nursery in the area with a tea store where the husband and wife will occasionally blend their own tea. I'm thinking of being along my discontinued Garcinia tea and seeing if they can make something similar. I'm down to barely one cup left. |
I need to get more tea soon... I'm running low.
|
I have quite a few boxes of tea. I love drinking it in the fall and winter.
|
I'm starting to have issues if I don't get my morning tea, regardless of the day. It might have to do that I dislike eating much in the am and the milk and sugar in my tea get me some energy.

I found more of my Domo London Fog mix today! Huzzah!
Mass shopping trip. I am tired. But, I managed to buy only one tea! |
So I've been looking at For Tea's Sake now, as I got a couple off the clearance rack a couple of stores. (Not usually a good sign.) The tea itself is weak, but I do like the blends somewhat. The have one that's the closest I've manage to get to my old Cinnamon Heart tea that's called Home Sweet Home. One of the ingredients is, literally, "Candy." Such careful product labeling, these guys.
Their "Zen Master" tea is another pu-erh mix so I am giving that a try. It's pretty bland, I find, an overload of extra stuff beyond the tea, or I'm just failing at getting enough of a mix. The petals in it are long and annoying to deal with. I have Lapsang Suchong right now. I'm actually tempted to see what manner of cooking I could do with it. |
Because of an ultrasound I could not have my proper cup of tea this morning. I had to make due with green. I was amazed at how foul a mood I found myself in on the drive back to the mall afterward. Like, it wasn't just my usual hungry, stressed out snarkiness, I wanted to snarl and scream and savage something.
Like seriously, something had to not be on this planet anymore. Then we got to the mall and I had a chai latte and then I was okay. :) |

There is a place here in Miami called Small Tea. It's quite nice, with 9 categories of tea and 84 teas in total. Buying a pitcher gives you free refills of it. :p-grin: |
I adore tea, am definitely a tea fiend although first thing in the morning I do require a dark roast coffee or someone is liable to me smacked upside the head. Gibbs'd as I call it (NCIS reference), but I love Green Teas, and currently my favourite tea is a Raspberry Lemon tea, cannot remember where my mother got it from but I am pretty sure it is a fancy ish tea from David's Tea or perhaps Teavanna. I quite enjoy Starbucks tea as well, their Emperor's Clouds and Mist Green Tea is my absolute favourite! Yum. |
I know that reference!
I haven't really tried Starbucks tea as I don't much like their prices for what I can make myself, hence I tend to go for chai latte or a vanilla steamed milk. That tea sounds like something David's would have. I don't know enough of Teavanna to say. I've been getting annoyed at David's for discontinuing my favourite blends! I've also decided I spend way too much on frilly teas and need to curb my spending. I stick with my staples now, for the most part. I have found a ginger pu'erh mix that I quite like from an independent tea shop. I might check another local place I like and see what they have again. The guy knows his tea, and that's always neat to hear about, at least for me. The owner (I think) explained the nature of the Assam estate teas to me. |
Starbucks tea IS Teavana tea now for the most part. They bought Teavana a couple years ago.
|
I was aware of that but I haven't actually been inside a Teavanna in some time, and when I go into a Starbucks, what I see is Tazo which I can get at a grocery store.
I heard the stores were shutting down. Is that because of lack of store front business? There are always people in David's but, again, I don't know enough about Teavanna to say. |
So do you consider herbal infusions to be tea because some do and some do not. I am really caffeine sensitive so I have to drink decaffeinated teas or stick with herbals. Since we have a fairly decent herb shop about an hour from our house when I get the chance I like to go and buy herbs to make my own blends.
|
*Stalks Mekatra* I drink tea. I mean I've been drinking it more often. I don't drink coffee hardly at all, but I do like a nice black tea. Lately, though I've been drinking sleepy time tea before bed.

I consider it tea, even if it's technically not. lol
|
I've only encountered one person that did, and that was the owner of a high end tea store in a not-quite-as-high-end-as-I'm-sure-it-wanted-to-be mall.
|
-snort- Screw those people, I just want to enjoy my herb/fruit-flavored water even if my stomach can't handle the caffeine.
|
Our cupboard is FULL of Teavanna, Davids Tea and so many other types of tea. It is ridiculous, we also have several bags of pure matcha. Anything I can steep in hot water however, is delicious for me. My current kick I am on is the Forever Nuts tea from Davids Tea. YUM! (Also glad someone got my reference <3) |
All I have from Teavana is a white ayurvedic chai. i haven't been into a store since as they were never too common where I life. I actually joined their website but haven't actually ordered anything.
|
I somehow managed to get my hands on three bags of TWG black and decaf black teas, and let me tell you, that was some of the best tea I've ever had.
|
TWG? I know them not.
Was in David's today but I've had to admit that the store is just too pricey for me these days. There was a guy in there asking specifically for Oolong tea from Taiwan. I'm not too familiar with Oolong outside of the Jumpy Monkey blend which has enough other stuff in it that I'm pretty sure I could tell where in the mix it was. It's something I'd like to try more of in the future but it seems a little more on the pricey end. |
My mistake: Jumpy Monkey is a green/yerba mate blend. I thought it was black/oolong.
|
Gingerbread tea has become one of my favorites. I forgot how good it was. ;n;
|
Haven't tried it but I've seen it around.
I had a pumpkin pie thing that was okay (not pumpkin spice!) though it tasted just a hint like soap. |
I just got a notice that the Teavana website is going down as well. So much for that idea, but apparently there's a big sale now.
I have a cup of Assam Banaspaty this time. |

Wow. I just looked them up. They have a store over in Van near by the art gallery. Fancy menu. Might have to go there with my sister-in-law next time we feel like scoping out an afternoon or high tea somewhere.
|
Apparently, I require at least three cups of black tea in a day if I don't want to turn savage by the evening.
Also LOOK AT THIS FREAKING MENU! TWG Vancouver I want to grab my sisters and go next time I'm in the city. |
Oh wow, that looks really good.
|
Fancy tea party :O
I feel cheap. The most I have ever spent on tea was like 12 bucks on a 3 oz packet of jasmine tea and I didn't even like it. |
It's tricky with tea sometimes, and the smell can be deceiving. I will spend the $$ on occasion to go and have a fancy tea though, but I don't make a habit of it, especially not at that price.
There's a little British "Shoppe" here that does a sort of basic little high tea, but it's only $13 and it's enough of a meal for me. |
