I was thinking of cutting up some apple slices and giving them to the local squirrels.
But I wasn't sure if squirrels eat apples?

squirrels eat just about any non-meat food-stuff. if you like it the squirrels probably do too

I'll definitely bring some slices of apples for those squirrels the next time I go to the park.

I was actually thinking of bringing them some lies of bread also, since I don't eat the ends of the loaves, and they tend to go bad pretty fast and I don't like wasting food. :c

i think ava is american right? you may want to not give them bread. there is so much sugar in american bread that it really isn't good for the local wildlife(though bread in general isn't great regardless of where you live)

Bread's not good for animals anyways. I'd bring peanuts, almonds, sunflower/pumpkin seeds, that stuff.

I once tried to make friends with the crows around my old neighborhood by giving them some peanuts. They love peanuts. >w<
And a couple of them lingered around in the tall trees around the block, and near the backyard. :D They used to caw back and forth with me in the early mornings and when I took the trash out. <3

Ahh! Thanks for letting me know about the bread! I'm glad I checked here before giving the squirrels any food.

I used to give my pet chicken some bread, but he was chicken, much different from squirrels!
