look up on ebay or used stuff store

Addy 06-03-2012 06:37 PM

That's my plan! I hear they are only $20ish, so next payday, we'll see.

hyjin 06-03-2012 06:41 PM

they range around there... i saw some for $40 with console, cables, controller, and 2 games

Addy 06-03-2012 06:42 PM

Not bad at all. :3

We used to have a used game place in town, kinda bummed they're closed, otherwise I'd get one there. x(

hyjin 06-03-2012 06:43 PM

i dont know if there are any near me... i wish there was so i can get pokemon fire red

Addy 06-03-2012 06:44 PM

I bet you could find a copy of that on Amazon or eBay for pretty fair prices. Pokemon games rarely get cheap, though, so you might still have to pay $20+ for it. D:

hyjin 06-03-2012 06:45 PM

yeah but you have to be aware of the fake ones...

Addy 06-03-2012 06:46 PM

This is very true. Both of those sites come with buyer protection, though, and if they claim the cart is legit and you end up with a fake one, you can contact customer support and get your money back.

hyjin 06-03-2012 07:14 PM

Yep. I already bought the other ones I just need fire red.

Who doesn't play their old game systems once in a while?
My favorite console to play was the SNES. Link to the Past, Super Mario, Lagoon, and Secret of Mana...makes me want to dig them all out from my cluttered room...

Ekilachan 07-17-2012 02:00 PM

I still play my older games. Currently playing on my Gamecube. Gonna get a new PS2 in the future since my old one has problems reading DVDs sometimes. But runs the games fine. (I only had a problem with one game.) (Giving my old PS2 to my roommate Serra Britt once I get a new one.)

I wish I had some of the old systems like SNES and Sega Genesis. But once I get money, and since I have a Wii, I plan to get some of the older games like the ones that were on the SNES, which are now on the Virtual Console. (Super Mario RPG for example!) Same with getting those old Game Boy games on the 3DS as well.

Graceful Reaper 08-12-2012 03:54 PM

I still own my gameboy advance SP. I play Dragon Ball Z Buu's Fury almost every time I away from home! ^_^

Kaguya 08-12-2012 04:46 PM

I have my saga megadrive, Sonic for the win!

Lin 08-12-2012 04:47 PM

Yeah i still play my PS1 :P my 64 and all those other fun old systems

Rico 08-12-2012 06:09 PM

Yupe, I still play older games and console, just the other day I was playing (moar like getting my ass kick to hell and back) some Dungeon and Dragon Warrior of the eternal sun on Sega Genesis. Man I didn't remember that game so damn hard (oddly enough my longest lasting unit was my cleric name FISTOFLOVE<3<3<3)
Honestly, I have more fun with older consoles most of the time. Like on PS3, I play say Prototype 2 and I finished it, I don't think I'd replay it in a while, while I can't even count the number of time I've played Super Mario World, Contra 3 the alien wars or Donkey Country 1,2,3. And damn the insane amount of time I wasted on Tetris on NES. And I want to replay some Majora's Mask ever since I've listened to a remix of the Stone Tower Temple music by DJ the S called Depth of my Heart.

Tarrek 08-13-2012 01:52 AM

I just gave away my PS2 and my N64. The last of my old systems. Now I have my PC, my 360, and my DS (which I never play)

Quiet Man Cometh 08-13-2012 03:12 AM

Curious, but is anyone here surprised to find people still playing their old systems? I'm never one to abandon old tech while it's still useful (my week old Nephew will probably own an iphone before I will) or while it's still does the job. Minus my computer of course, but that was a physical space issue. ;)

Rico 08-13-2012 03:46 AM

I'm not really surprised no. Actualy, most people I know usualy play more often on Old Consoles like NES/SNES and PS1 more than, say PS3 or Wii or 360. Hell, my brother barely play any other thing than his NES.

littl3chocobo 08-13-2012 04:09 AM

so i was thinking this was for /old/ consoles, ps2 isn't old, my gamegear is old but not ps2 XD

Quiet Man Cometh 08-13-2012 04:17 AM

I'd still be playing our old Caleco if it worked, but alas, things like google to look up game controls and function did not exist when we finally decided to can it.

littl3chocobo 08-13-2012 04:30 AM

?? owo i don't know that console

Quiet Man Cometh 08-14-2012 03:45 AM

Calecovision. I think it came around at about the same time as Betamax. Early 1980s, possibly sooner.

littl3chocobo 08-14-2012 03:50 AM

yeah i realized that after the fact XD

Quiet Man Cometh 08-14-2012 04:54 AM

I didn't get to play it much. I mostly watched my cousin play since I was pretty tiny at the time. I do still have my Game Gear around. Might finally sell that. That's one older system I usually don't play.

Ae86 08-15-2012 04:49 AM

I know Yu gi oh is kind of Childish.. But however, I've always liked it.
Back in the day I got soooo uber addicted to Yu-Gi-Oh! The Duelists of the Roses for ps2. I couldn't put it down for the longest time.. eventually something happened to it (idk) lol.
But seriously. For any Yu gi oh fan.. Play that game.

i still play ps2 games and if i could stand (or find a n64) the emulation of a n64 id be playing ogre battle 64 <333 LOVED that game.. as far as ps2 goes Draken i wish they had made the 2nd one... but yeah :<
edit:
snes.. harvestmoon can't forget that seeing as i have it on my ds and wii xD as well

Quiet Man Cometh 08-18-2012 07:01 AM

My N64 is still perfectly functional thanks to diligent care and always having a light cloth over the cartridge slot. It's on loan to my sister right now though, since I don't play it often anymore, and I've already got my wii and PS2 taking up all my video game drawer space.

My favourite 'childish' game was Pokemon Snap. Not sure why but the game was just too darn amusing. Still don't know how my friend got a freakish shot of Mew in the end. Too bad the sticker machines are all gone. I wanted to make a couple.

sadly the power cord bit the dust on my n64... so i gave the system away seeing at the time ebay wasn't really there as far as finding cables hehe XD

omg pokemon snap! >w<

i liked hey you pikachu.. if you could get past yelling at the dysfunctional mic xD

http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c5...ves2-1-1-1.gif

Quiet Man Cometh 08-18-2012 08:44 AM

I remember that game. Stuff that involved talking to the game always felt weird to me, even if I'm half inclined to talk to the TV or the game anyway. I play Guitar Hero on the DS and you're supposed to yell in it to activate star power. I just blow on it and it does the same thing. Reminds me, I want to get the other version for that before all the regular DS stuff leaves in favour of 3D. *Not* buying another DS!

well it was i think one of the first games to have a mic xD so it was buggy as i dunno what LOL took like 5 minutes to pick up a apple but when it did it you were kind like :D ....

Quiet Man Cometh 08-18-2012 09:11 AM

Makes me think of the old DOS games where you had to type in what you wanted the character to do and half the time was spent figuring out how to word it so that the computer would get it.

Rosekitten 08-18-2012 09:26 AM

Quiet Man Cometh 08-18-2012 09:38 AM

I remember playing one game where you had to outrun this damn mummy to the bag of gold. Never got past that. We just couldn't type that fast!

One did get tired of the usual routine of "open drawer," "look in drawer," "pick up *object*" etc. But yeah, not talking to the screen would have been a bonus. But being kids we tried anyway. ;)

Belial 08-25-2012 02:24 PM

I still have love for my PS2.
Bought for $75 new way back in the day and the thing still works like a dream.
Many of the games I love on it are not compatible with the PS3 and there is no way I am paying for a game I already own.

hyjin 08-25-2012 03:07 PM

I can't play my ps2 anymore... it was murdered

˟ 08-30-2012 09:41 PM

; A ; I would play my Super Nintendo if I still had it.. But I broke it when I was 1O since I didn't know how to set it up. ; n ; Korean outlets are different from American outlets.. XD;
I would play my GameBoy if i hadn't lost my Tetris! Argh! Or some fun games.. XD;

Quiet Man Cometh 09-13-2012 08:09 PM

I was on ThinkGeek.com yesterday looking up gifts for my nephew (still feels funny to say I have a nephew...) and apparently you can buy a NES/SNES system new for $50. Either it was re-released or third parties can make it now. for $100 they had a portable one, which looks really funny with the big NES cartridge sticking out the top of it.

Lestrade 09-13-2012 09:27 PM

My newest console system is the PS2 >.> Pretty much all I play are that and PC games nowadays. There are tons of old PS2 RPGs I haven't gotten to yet so I don't need anything new and expensive.

Quiet Man Cometh 09-13-2012 10:11 PM

There's a fair amount of PS1 stuff I want to play but haven't gotten there yet. I'm cheap and will almost never pay more than $15 for a game, Skyrim, Pokemon, and DMC3 excepted.

Calomy 06-28-2013 06:46 PM

Of course I still play my old game systems!

Although I have not played my Super Nintendo for a few months but I still go back and play it every now and then!
