wheezecackles.
i could probably do some more cool shit but like. i'm too busy designing hairs and shit bc i can't be arsed to make clothing options that are neutral, since it requires repixelling for boobs / to remove boobs and for a set of wider hips. |

My son has taken to doing pixel art on his phone. He's still learning the craft, but it's good to see him doing it.
For pixel art, I'm a GIMP user with a mouse through and through. The way I use it, Photoshop feels clunky. I've done a couple of Trisphee items this way. My pixel art skill has been getting better over the last year or so as I've taken it upon myself to try to make my own assets for the games I make. My wife helped me with the latest game (see my "Games by Coda" thread) by drawing out the human character to fit in the environment I made, and then I fixed up the outlines and shading to work with the rest of the style. |
i'm planning to make like. some sort of gear based items at some point (floating gears), provided i can figure out a good way of just doing the damn things, since it'd need to be 3d and all.
|
...Do you want me to just CAD some gears and take screenshots so you can have them at whatever rotation you want?

very nice.

Bless you, Espy.

My main choice is GIMP and a built in laptop mouse, not one of the ball mice. XD
Back in the old days, I worked with Paint and it was a nightmare, mainly just pixeled. As for using my phone to draw, have you seen the size of the Samsung S10E? It's probably around the size of an Iphone 5, lol. but can't say I am spoiled for choice when I want to doodle - have a tablet pc, three gaming systems (Median, HP Omen and Asus Tuf) and two drawing tablets. One actually takes paper and sends it to the pc, I haven't set them up yet cause my workspace is a mess, lol. But I more prefer to sketch ideas for games on paper, I'll probably start sketching more things out - have a pirate game and another game I'm working on but kind of want to sketch ideas before coding, etc. |

@Stabbsworth: nice meeting you! It's been years since I last visited Tris...
@Espy: yeah, it has been! But glad to see a familiar face! How's everything here? |
A bit quiet at times, but picking up.
|
It seems 1 or 2 people are online when I am online... Is it more active on certain hours?
|
god knows, because i'm probably not on at peak hours. would have to ask coda about that.
|
There's usually 2-3 people on at any given moment, seems like. but I only really pop on a couple times a day anymore. That being said, it's certainly been awhile, Cazz!

Where has everybody gone these days? It used to be very active back in the days...
|
1.) I think part of it was the general decline of interest in forum sites.
2.) |
in general, everyone prefers instant messaging from the likes of discord these days. voltra and pantheon online have their own dedicated communities, mind you.
people will come back when they see fit with this sort of thing. admittedly, it doesn't exactly help that we don't have much for those that aren't exactly the most social aside from the crane game and item exchange, as well as that dating sim game. (iirc, you can't get prizes from the snowy game that has a name that i'm not remembering right now.) galla's been having some shenanigans irl, and they're the item tech. up to them on whether or not to disclose what's up in a more wordy form than this, since i'd prefer to keep their privacy. |
Agreed, forum sites has been slow these days. But forum sites has that nostalgic, old school feeling to it.
Yeah, about Glitch, I talked to her via FB months before it happened. We are friends on FB... |
eh, yeah. the benefit of forum sites is that usually you can come back to them whenever the fuck you want, provided they're still up and running.
i still miss her. i'd've liked to work with her but i only got around to properly applying for the job of pixelist this year. i think it might've been about a year since glitch died? |
Honestly, I think as long as Trisphee keeps holding steady and still has A community to come back to, we'll be fine.
|
yep yep.
it's pretty tight-knit here. i'd see about introducing some people, but eh. i've already introduced my boyfriend to this site, and he works here now too. |
Yeah, forum sites are still very nice to use even if they're considered "old school" now. I will never give up forum sites, though. They still have their benefits as mentioned earlier.
|
I decided to come back because of the community here. I might not be as active as I was before but I'd be popping in and out.
Do we have plans for Tris? |
I tend to pop on and off, was kind of dealing with the news of a death of an almost family member.. they waited two weeks to let us know and we were trying to find out where the person was for months..
Know saw you around, Cazzidy but don't think we spoke. I kind of wasn't much into socialising back in the days, have a good friend that has been helping me get better with socialising to a point, I'm still skittish around folks I don't really know. Think forum/avatar sites are pretty much like MMOs these days. Most of the folks I know that play on those are old timers like me, chances of meeting someone younger than 20 these days is very rare. But again, I don't know enough folks here to really go out and socialise, my basic friend group lives between 30 - 2 hours away and all of them are gamers who rather spend their time playing games, lol. But think it's like anything, if you don't update, etc, eventually folks will start to drift away. I actually came back to see if any of the folks I rpged with were still around, just had the notion to see if could get any of the old rpgs back and running and chances maybe Trak would of returned as well, have spoken to him once on DevArt in 2 years. He's very good at disappearing off of social sites, lol. |
man, sometimes i think about MMOs and shit. don't get me started on how fer.al turned out to be a massive failure. i spent so much time with someone on that game to try and help him with the whole alcoholism shit.
enough with that, though. i'm still trying to find a decent free MMO that doesn't force you into pay-to-win chance shit. the only thing i've found that even comes close to that would be hypixel's skyblock gamemode, and they do big updates sometimes, but it's not really enough for me. there's no community events that i've personally been a part of, and i'm mostly sometimes on it so that i can grind for the shared profile for my bf bc idk how well minecraft runs on his computer. like, yeah, sure, this is a thing, but man, it'd be nice to have something different. and something that isn't like. going searching for servers on minecraft, finding a few different ones, then there barely being any decent people to talk to and you're not sure of any updates because hypixel dominates the goddamn market. i've thought of making my own minecraft server network. and i am not doing that specifically because it requires so much work to just get the plugins and shit working with each other. not to mention all the moderation stuff i'd have to do, which i already do for a decently large server. whoops, got rambly. anyways, eventually we'll have some updates on stuff. idk if i can mention stuff that Coda's doing other than QoL improvements. i think you'd have to ask him about what's in the works. |
Don't think there's any that's not pay to get ahead.. any free MMOs have that business model through I still think Maple Story is a good MMO. Haven't played Minecraft, have a small group of people that try to stay on the same MMOs if possible since we have known each other for about 7-8 years and most see each other as family. They meet up to go camping, etc. If I still lived in the US, they had said I was more then welcome to come since most want to meet each other in real life.
I think I rather be surprised through would be nice to have some more games on here to earn aurum. Know that's the only thing really keeping me on Gaia Online is that they brought ZOmg back. I'm earning gold for stuff I want while getting my booty kicked by monsters, lol. I just haven't gotten the courage to start posting in forums on there even through most of my accounts have been around Gaia since 2003, etc.. and haha, ramble on. Nice to not hear folks accusing each of other cheating, etc for once. |
I miss having a decent MMO to play. Not subscribed to FF14 but I played through the trial. ;w; I want to play again sometime, though.
