Salone 09-25-2015 06:37 PM

Oh my. Speaking of work, I suppose I need to do a new request don't I?

The first person to draw/doodle (this can be hand drawn or done in MS-Paint or a similar program) and post a picture of a Pangolin will win 30 Runes!

Obsidian Artist 09-26-2015 12:08 PM

who is pangolin? I guess I'll try tomorrow if I have a chance.

hyjin 09-26-2015 12:30 PM

OMG pangolin is so cute... it looks like a baby sandshrew (pkmn)

Pangolins are adorable mammals similar to armadillos. They have a fairly tough hide and are covered in very hard protective scales. When threatened they can curl in to a ball to protect themselves from predators. Unfortunately they are hunted by poachers and people looking to sell them as exotic pets. A lot of people don't know about them, but as hyjin pointed out they are the animal that the Pokemon Sandshrew and Sandslash were based off of. They can be found in parts of Asia and Africa, and eat a diet of various insects such as ants and termites.

Again, they are adorable.

Congratulations hyjin! For your drawing of a Pangolin (who appears to be engaged in the act of being a cuddly flufflebumpkin) you win 30 Runes!

Obsidian Artist 09-27-2015 02:23 AM

Oh man. I am sorry. I had a hard enough time making it to my own school back in the day. Would have skipped the day completely if I had to drop someone else off.

And I'll have another request up soon, no worries!

Obsidian Artist 09-29-2015 12:27 PM

Sweet. I should not this week, but in a week or two have money on hand to buy some stuff on here. I want to be able to do a halloween giveaway I hope.

hyjin 09-29-2015 03:09 PM

I work everyday and go to school after work... its aweful... dont get home till 11pm... wakeup back at 7am and repeat.

Obsidian Artist 09-30-2015 01:16 PM

Salone 10-01-2015 08:06 AM

Alright! Neeeeeeeeww question!

In the 90's, NASA launched the Mars Climate Orbiter probe to study Mars. However, a navigational issue created a problem with the mission and caused the craft to overshoot its target, causing NASA to lose a $125 million dollar project. What caused the issue? First to answer correctly wins 30 runes!

hyjin 10-01-2015 11:57 AM

Mixed matched measurement units.
They used the English units of measurement instead of metric.

Congrats hyjin on going the distance (In imperial or metric, your choice), and winning 30 runes!

hyjin 10-02-2015 09:48 AM

I think metric should be taught... lol everything would be so much easier with a common measurement system

Obsidian Artist 10-02-2015 11:46 AM

Just now saw this, haha. Trying to get my youngest brother to take his soda cup (it has medicine in it)

hyjin 10-02-2015 11:53 AM

Has anyone answered this yet? Yes, I'm that lazy that I didn't read back through the pages. How technical do I have to be? (ie, do I have to quote the Wiki page? :P)

The communication software was using imperial measurements-things instead of metric. Oops.

hyjin 10-11-2015 12:21 PM

Yes it was already answered

Salone 10-11-2015 02:59 PM

Sorry for the delay guys! Back to winning those runes!

Everyone knows the communist revolutionary turned post-mortem capitalist t-shirt endorser Che Guevara, but not everyone knows his actual first name (probably because it's not as catchy as "Che" =P). What is his real first name, and what does "Che" mean? First person to answer correctly wins 30 runes!

Sei 10-11-2015 03:00 PM

That's really cool of you to do, Salone. :3

Weeeeell you know, learn some trivia, polish those investigatory skills and earn some runes on the way, Runes that I feel I should stress can be used for some amazing items that are currently coming through the pipeline. Eventually the Rune rewards will end, but I'll keep it going through items and aurum and such.

Sei 10-11-2015 03:40 PM

That's awesome to hear. I still think we have one of the best communities out there. *nods*

Obsidian Artist 10-11-2015 04:42 PM

I shall try before work.

Ernesto Rafael Guevara de la Serna
I figured if this was trivia I would just post his full name :P sorry...

I guess the meaning depends on where you want it to come from.

Quote:

Che "friend" and thus loosely corresponds to expressions such as "mate", "pal", "man", "bro", or "dude", as used by various English speakers.

Nothing to be sorry about! I'm actually quite proud. Especially for the "Che" bit and how it had multiple variations, and you took the context of his name to find the appropriate one. Good show Obsidian! Runes for you!

Yay thank you. I actually read it all too. I love learning new things :3

Aaaaaaand that's why I do it!

Okay! New question, new chance to win some runes. Let's see...

In 1912, a presidential hopeful is about to give a campaign speech. However, he is shot with a .32 caliber pistol. After the shooter is subdued, the candidate determines that his wound is not life threatening and proceeds to give his speech while still bleeding. Who was this person? Hint: He had previously already been a president before.

First person to get it right wins 30 runes!

Sei 10-11-2015 08:18 PM

Ooh, I know! President Washlincosivelt!

CupcakeDolly 10-11-2015 08:53 PM

Oh shit, I read about this in a Cracked article, I think...
I'm going to say it was the most badass prez ever, Mr. Theodore Roosevelt?
