Eh, not really once you get the hang of the system. The point of it though was to be largely open world and able to do things at your own pace. Some of the best gear can be found from doing missions, but you can also get some good stuff just by grinding and buying it.

I do understand that it does seem really large with less to do when compared to other MMOs. It is still young though, so all a matter of time for them to develop it more.
