Since we are going there.....
3 dogs, 6 cats, 2 turtles and 2 bunny rabbits. 5 more cats and 3 more dogs on the property.
Me, hubby, 2 roommates with their 2 kids, and 1 other roommate. Mother also lives on property.

trystan830 01-06-2017 09:53 PM

wow, SparX.... that sounds like a full house there!

SparX 01-06-2017 09:55 PM

Yeah we got rid of one in December and 2 today.

Fulkth 01-06-2017 10:33 PM

I have a husband and a cat that loves to meow for attention. XD

Miss Sandman 01-07-2017 07:38 AM

sparx
how you get rid of one???? this sounds really weird!!

SparX 01-07-2017 12:07 PM

By giving them 30 days in november and telling them they HAVE to leave.

Potironette 01-11-2017 04:37 AM

Gyahaha, I'm so happy there's a Drop/Add period at the start of each semester. Once second semester comes I'm trying my best to get rid of my French class. My counselor wouldn't tell me if this was possible, but at least I have to try to replace it with something.

If I can push for it to be dropped, I have a chance to add either Tradition and Computer Animation Techniques (seems fun?), Digital Photography (do I need to buy another camera?), Math Seminar/Problem Solving II (why the II? Is it continuous? The Departmental authorization scares me off a bit, though problem solving seems like fun--though it seems hard too), Forensic Science (I probably don't want to do this), Neuroscience Medicine (definitely don't want to do this one), or cosmology (what even is cosmology?).

Still, I'm scared they won't let me drop French in the end..which would be awful. I should find out today, though I don't know how much I should trust my counselor.

/end rant x'D

Miss Sandman 01-11-2017 06:19 AM

Nette good luck for getting rid of! I like French though! It sounds really melodic to me :))

Potironette 01-11-2017 06:35 AM

French sounds pretty nice--though I'm not very interested in continuing to learn it xD. I don't see myself going to France if I can help it, and I don't have anyone to speak French to. The language itself, well, it feels more like something that takes away from my time than anything. If I had to learn any language it would either be Korean, Japanese, or Mandarin x'D.

Miss Sandman 01-11-2017 07:33 AM

Aww mandarin is really hard to learn, even worse than germany! Japanese I would learn too just because for fun :))

Coda 01-11-2017 11:30 AM

Mandarin has the advantage that the grammar is straightforward (easier than English in that regard) and words don't inflect. The hard part is learning the written vocabulary (TONS of memorization) and tones.

Japanese is a fun language to learn. I took three years of it in college.

Korean is on my list of things to learn someday.

trystan830 01-11-2017 11:41 AM

a friend of mine took Japanese too!

in high school, in addition to my public school, i went to a hebrew school on sundays, and took 5 years of hebrew (grades 8-12), and was able to use that as my language requirement through high school and for college.

now... i might remember a few things, but i wouldn't make any promises. XD

Glitch 01-11-2017 12:17 PM

I took 3 years of Japanese but only words stuck. My brain just doesn't want to learn other languages v.v

I also tried a French class but it was online and I'd read the sounds and words in the text but when the teacher held live in French only chats I didn't understand anything she said because you can't read how a word sounds in a book xD

Tohopekaliga 01-11-2017 12:25 PM

I've learned random words in many many languages, took Spanish in high school, and dedicated some time to learning Japanese and German.

But I'm only fluent in English. XD

Coda 01-11-2017 12:39 PM

I wouldn't say I'm FLUENT in Japanese, and I'm quite rusty by now, but I am (or was) at least conversational enough to carry on a meaningful discussion as long as it doesn't get too deep.

Tohopekaliga 01-11-2017 12:41 PM

Yeah, I never got that far. :P

I don't really have people to talk to in those languages, which makes it more difficult.

trystan830 01-11-2017 12:43 PM

in that case... i'm only fluent in English.

with a concetration in the 'teenager' dialect.

Miss Sandman 01-11-2017 01:14 PM

My native language is german.... So i learned english because we need to in elementary and grade school! I just dont have enough reasons to learn japanese because i probably never will went there :((

Potironette 01-11-2017 06:39 PM

Turns out I'm not able to drop year long courses D:

Tones are pretty easy for me in Mandarin because it's my mother-tongue--only a mother-tongue I had to mostly abandon.

I'm more likely to visit Japan/China than I am to visit any European country x'D

Fulkth 01-11-2017 11:45 PM

I have been working my ass off this week to keep my mind off of things.

I am debating whether to do a bunch of chores or be extra lazy this weekend.

Glitch 01-12-2017 12:03 AM
