feeling better today. the headache was badly triggered by bending over, for some bullshit reason, so i think it might've been something to do with a muscle in my neck.

Me, spending time alone, despite everyone being home now:

Looks like I get to play the part of my son's schoolteacher for the next couple of weeks. Fortunately, my mother-in-law IS a schoolteacher and she's coming here to visit, so she can help so I don't have my own work schedule disrupted so much.

Kaderin Triste 03-16-2020 02:22 AM

Ngl, I kinda wanna make a cute little face mask for Derpy....
>.>
Just for funsies...because people are taking things too seriously. Which isn't to say that it's not a serious time, but we gotta be able to smile and stuff too, right?)

trystan830 03-16-2020 09:37 AM

Our mayor in So Cal has just placed temporary bans on
dining in restaurants,
going to movie theatres,
shopping in malls,
going to gyms and fitness centers,
bowling alleys, arcades,
sports events and entertainment venues,
so all of those are canceled.

Which means I'll have to either order out, get delivery, or make stuff from home. 8T
Which also means, I don't have to go to any Dodger games after all. x]
Which also makes me curious as to how any and all traffic everywhere will be affected. 8/
Anyways, I've got an eye appointment. -U- And then breakfast. Toodles!

Woohoo! Even though museum is gonna be closed to the public for 2 weeks (minimum), I still get to work my normal hours! And can either work on Saturday like I usually do or fill those hours in during the week and have my weekends off to self-isolate! (Which I do usually anyway. I'm not very social.)

Stabbsworth 03-16-2020 01:30 PM

i just feel sad today.

Kaderin Triste 03-16-2020 02:19 PM

Getting really sick of my friend's coronavirus conspiracy theory. XP

Correction: I'm sick of EVERYONE coronavirus conspiracy theories.
Was told by a coworker that it's not a pandemic....

Quote:

A pandemic is a disease epidemic that has spread across a large region, for instance multiple continents, or worldwide.
Um...yeah it is. I don't think they know what "pandemic" means...

>_> It's honestly getting annoying to hear about people panic buying constantly. Also seeing people panic buying when I need something from the store. >:/

Actual shout: Day 4 of being a hermit 99% of the time. X) I'm doing great so far. Haven't collapsed into insanity yet at all.

Stabbsworth 03-17-2020 12:39 PM

I, for one, am kinda sad that the gyms and fitness centers are closed. :(

I got a pizza delivered yesterday... since our apartment is so small, we really can't cook any "big" meals or meal plan properly...

Booooyyyyy, am I glad to live in SoCal where there is Postmates and other delivery services!
Back in Minnesota, where I lived, even the closest pizza place would not deliver to my house because it was "out of range"!!
>:T

While it's a bummer that fitness centers are closed, they're also some of the most important places TO close. Even in the best of circumstances they're cesspools of microbes as people pant and sweat and touch things all over the place while only washing their hands before and after (if that). Sure, they use antibacterial plastics whenever it's practical, but this is a virus.

Biomecha 03-17-2020 05:31 PM

They actually provided plastic shields for the cashiers in this area. Kind of surreal seeing how everything is changing.

Den 03-17-2020 05:59 PM

So, in addition to mom's job (at the schools) being put on hold until the 13th of April, now Dad's regular watering hole is closed. fml.
