yikes! that's a little too close for my comfort....
It would be for me, too, except there's a mountain in the way, which helps. :P
well that's good the mountain helps!
It's down to 20 C here now. :D Oheuw!
*opens up converstion app, enters numbers* oooh 20C is nice. =)
Hey guys!
What's up? I'm feeling kind of blah today. Thinking I got too much sleep or something... |
"Too much sleep" is a problem I would LOVE to have. I have problems all day if I don't get a full night's sleep. ._.
It's finally 29C and not 32C now that its not nighttime :'D! I kept sleeping with an ice pack throughout the day because it was too hot to comfortably be awake.
I am a tad shook still.
There was a shooting nearby yesterday evening. Was scary as hell to ride my bike home after midnight. D: And I am home alone until tomorrow. |
Oh dear. I'm glad you're all right.
-- I had instant noodles today! I know it's processed and unhealthy but I love them >< |
I love ramen as well. I try to avoid eating them though. 400 calories is a lot especially when you are trying to only eat 1,000 calories a day.
Why only 1000? Even dieting you should generally still be consuming 1200 unless your doctor has told you otherwise. If you don't get enough calories your metabolism slows way down and you don't burn fat as well.
Hmm, I did not know that.
I figured that I would need less calories since I am smaller than average. I was looking at this website: http://www.healthyweightforum.org/en...ries-required/ And it recommends that I eat 1,158 calories to lose 1 pound a week. So 1,000 calories doesn't seem that unreasonable. |
*blink* You must be tiny. o.o But okay, if your body mass is that low then the numbers do scale down. 1000 is still probably slightly low for you because you should aim for no more than two pounds per week (again, to keep your body from slowing down your metabolism too much) but nitpicking between 1000 and 1050 is hard to do in practice. You should be fine.
I eat cup ramen ^^ and it's ~300 calories from what I remember. Though packaged ramen is ~400.
Edit: The site says I need to eat between 1400-1500 calories for weight maintenance and ~1000 calories to lose weight ^~^'. That would mean a cup ramen would be nearly a full meal if I wanted to lose weight =~='' |
An average person needs 1500-1800 a day, and that's also for losing weight.
I really like how it's always bright in summer. This way I can read scary things without getting scared in the evenings x3
Well, cup ramen is MEANT to be a full meal, so that's probably about right. I tend to stretch it by adding in some vegetables to the cup, to add some bulk to it without adding much in the way of calories.
I am on the LCHF diet, and it works good. :)
I don't think this calorie counting thing is working out so far.
I have had a bunch of leftover fried fish with tartar sauce for breakfast and lunch. And I made 3 extra fattening desserts too. 1. Strawberry cheesecake-like dessert 2. Brownies 3. Upside down cake. |
Calorie-counting is the only thing that actually WORKS, in terms of the science of losing weight. Everything else -- in terms of what to eat, when to eat, how to eat, et cetera -- is either (1) pseudoscientific bunkum, (2) an attempt to make it easier to stay within your calorie budget while satisfying your cravings, or (3) both. Following ANY diet plan without making sure you stay within the calorie restriction will just lead to gaining weight. (Sorry, paleo/LCHF/Atkins/South Beach/whatever diets, chowing down on protein and fat all day won't make you healthy if you eat too much of it.)
The truth is, if you stay within your calorie limit, you can eat whatever you want, whenever you want, however you want. (Though not "however much you want," because obviously that will push you outside your calorie limit.) If you want to eat a Snickers bar for breakfast, that's okay. If you go over on one day, you can cut back for a couple days to make up for it, as long as you get the right amount on average. If you're only over your budget by 100-200 calories, you can even use extra exercise to burn it off. But yeah, diets are hard. There's a reason that there's an obesity epidemic in the first world -- human instincts are built just like most other mammals: hoard calories in times of plenty in order to survive times of famine. Unfortunately, we never HAVE times of famine anymore. We also instinctively crave the flavor of fat because it's the most dense source of biologically-available energy available. But until obesity starts killing fat people before they reach reproductive age, there's no chance of evolving out of it, so it's all a matter of willpower. |
I bought a gallon of ice cream on Tuesday night. It is now Thursday night and it's all gone. And the only person who has been eating it is my significant other...
I have extra salmon tonight. Anyone hungry?
i can only eat wild caught salmon ;!;
Any particular reason for only wild?
Chemicals? Glitch being a picky eater?
I am getting dragged out tonight |
i dunno! the obgyn said only wild salmon!
xD |
Are you expecting? It could be a concern about mercury levels in farmed salmon.
I am. I thought it was no fish at all but she said I can have wild salmon.
I don't know where to go to get any though and I am worried I would cook it wrong or something :x |
Best way to get wild Salmon is to fish…. but I wouldn't risk it in general.
No Sushi for you until my (self claimed) god child come out! |
you are my trisphee waifu you know
Yes I know, I proposed to you and everything!
Well... I bought the salmon from the seafood department at the grocery store. I think ours here in town is a cut above, but I'm pretty sure its still farm-raised. I'm just gonna warm-up leftovers or something tonight. I usually don't feel like cooking after work.
My understanding, for expectant mothers, was we could have chunk white albacore tuna and that was it.
Mmmmmm Salmon
Another reason I love living in the PNW I was thinking about getting some next month before the season is over and they get pricey but gotta set up a day where my mom isn't home so it doesnt mess with their allergies..... I was under the same understanding as Athilea though on pregnancy and fish eating. It's nice you get some flavorful fish meat glitchy =D |
I've actually never heard of that. But I don't have much experience with pregnant women. (And never will. >.> ) Isn't there also something about turkey and pickles? lol
yeah, sparx! another pnw resident! :3 |
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
-High fives Kitty- Which part of pnw are you in general =3 15 mins from canadian border here, 20 from the ocean XD |
currently a seattle-metro area dweller, was born on the oregon coast though. :3 |
