@Yokuutsu

Discovery Park looks really cool. It looks like there's something for everyone there!

Glitch 06-09-2016 09:53 PM

I spent way too much money on fish tanks this month.

I have a problem :l

Tohopekaliga 06-09-2016 10:58 PM

Salt water or freshwater fish?

Glitch 06-09-2016 11:04 PM

freshwater i have three tanks now but ._.

Tohopekaliga 06-09-2016 11:28 PM

Did you have none before now? :0

Glitch 06-10-2016 12:26 AM

yup none XD it started with my coworker buying me a beta. . . and then the little tank they got me didnt seem big enough so we got a bigger tank and then we got a second fish and then the tank didn't have a filter so got another one with a filter XD

Tohopekaliga 06-10-2016 09:21 AM

lol, I see...Fish tanks are cool. Thought about getting one before, although I'd almost certainly get a tank to have a little mini reef in, which is a bit of a time and money commitment.

Glitch 06-10-2016 01:51 PM

it's so time consuming XD

and now i'm worried that the cats are going to knock the stand the tank is on over while i'm at work! ahh

Tohopekaliga 06-10-2016 07:49 PM

Ah yes...always a worrisome combination, cats and fish. Hehe.

Glitch 06-10-2016 09:30 PM

i can't speak for the fish but the cats love them.

SparX 06-10-2016 09:36 PM

I've lost many a fish to a few cats....
and a few betta's specifically to suicide via jumping out .-.

Tohopekaliga 06-10-2016 10:09 PM

Betas get angry and jump at things, don't they?

SparX 06-10-2016 10:11 PM

In the wild they will jump from water source to water source
to say the least it was only after 3 of them jumping that I started figuring out how to lid them without having issues with them getting air XD
Then the next thing was making sure the cats would stop knocking the lids off XD

Coda 06-10-2016 10:20 PM

Bettas are weird in that they're fish, and they have gills, but they have to breathe air or else they drown.

Tohopekaliga 06-10-2016 10:27 PM

Really? That's odd.

Coda 06-10-2016 10:30 PM

Yeah, they have an organ called a "labyrinth" which is basically a crude lung -- lots of folds to increase surface area. They can survive on gills alone when sleeping but when active they have to go to the surface to periodically take a gulp of air.

In exchange for HAVING to breathe air, it also means that they CAN breathe air, so they can survive out of water for a little while when other fish can't.

Glitch 06-10-2016 10:47 PM

i love mine, his name is Gilbert. He likes to swim up and look at me whenever I am near the tank ^^

Fulkth 06-17-2016 03:46 PM

Ugh, why must there be so many chores to do today?! Time is moving way too fast today...

trystan830 06-17-2016 04:16 PM

time always moves too fast for me, Fulkth!

Fulkth 06-17-2016 06:30 PM

All my chores are complete! Time to lollygag until we go grocery shopping.

Finally! Ice cream!

Tohopekaliga 06-17-2016 06:54 PM

"Lollygagging" always makes me think of Angry Beavers, and that show's episode about, uh... Pony play.

Glitch 06-17-2016 09:33 PM

oh dear angry beavers XD

Fulkth 06-17-2016 11:52 PM

I have never heard of this angry beaver thing... XD

I must enlighten myself.

Tohopekaliga 06-17-2016 11:54 PM

Angry Beavers was a...strange show on Nickelodeon way back when. Lots of things easily missed as a child, but thinking back on it, ho boy.

SparX 06-18-2016 12:41 AM

Angry beavers makes me think of Cow and Chicken, which then reminds me of Ren and Stimpy. All shows I should not have watched at the age I did XD

Tohopekaliga 06-18-2016 12:08 PM

Yeah, it's in that vein. Rocco's Modern Life, too. Although, from what I remember, Angry Beavers was less insane than those others.

Fulkth 06-19-2016 05:56 PM

It's a really windy day today. I took my cat onto the porch to experience the breeze, but he didn't like it too much.

trystan830 06-19-2016 10:00 PM

my cat love it outside. and then they want to come back in. then go back out. then come back in. then go back out. i try to tell them it's not a revolving door, but they never listen.....

SparX 06-19-2016 11:21 PM

I had to round up my mothers cats to put in her rv while shes on vacation, but one is not around and can't be found =x
I am not to worried, but everytime she leaves for a vacation one of her cats die so she's super worried and I really want neither the guilt of it being her caught nor having a cat die on my watch D:

How does one always die O_o

SparX 06-19-2016 11:59 PM

Well we live in the county so any numerous natural factor. Coyotes, cougars, hawks, eagles, owls, or plain just possibly walking off to die of old age could be the reason.
4 of 9 of her cats have disappeared during her vacations. 1 was hit on the road by a dickwad, and 4 are still alive.
I ended up tossing some food in a empty water bottle and shaking it to imitate their treats they used to get and he appeared like magic.

Fulkth 06-20-2016 12:08 AM

@sparX

Those bunnies you are holding are so cute! Are they from the daily chance?

Coda 06-20-2016 12:09 AM

I flick the tabs on tin cans to get my cats' attention. They come running and meowing thinking it's dinnertime.

trystan830 06-20-2016 12:24 AM

i could go into the kitchen and shake a can of cat food and they'd come running to eat.

Pessimisticat 06-20-2016 12:45 AM

With my roommates cat, if I meow, whine, or make any obnoxious noise he comes running to check on me. Pretty sure he thinks I'm dying, lol.

SparX 06-20-2016 12:51 AM

@Fulkth
yes they are =P

for my cats I have a weird obnoxious meow ringtone if I play repeatedly they come right up to me XD
