How old do cats usually get?

well, we had two cats who died at 13, they were indoor/outdoor. my mom had a cat who was indoor only who died at 16, i think.

and my bad, Max is only 13. he'll be 14 in the spring of 2016.

eh, they're all right. i think cats are my spirit animals.

I don't think i ever will bother to take care of an animal ever, even tho i think they are cute and cuddly.
So if i ever get a pet it's either gonna be a plant or a rock.

plants need care too.

Well just once every three days or so, much less to be bothered about plus you can eat plants. *nom nom nom*

@Myst - true about eating plants. i'm pretty much an omnivore, so i'll have some veggies every so often...

well, plants don't meow at you to eat, and then meow to go outside.... or trip you in the middle of the night... XD

Nah they don't need much more than water, maybe some nutrients and a some dusting two times a year but not more than that.

I, too, am not the pet sort of person.

I don't have pets... Nor indoor plants. Neither go well, I think. I'm somewhat negligent to upkeep, so I don't want to subject an animal to that. :P

Maybe you should consider a pet rock then?

as an avid gardener and lover of plants i have to exit out of this conversation, that is pure abuse and is how plants die vxv what a shame indeed!

Nah, I don't need a pet rock. I've got my pineapple plants. They're like pets, except they don't move, stay outside, and require no upkeep at all.

Yup, I've got 3 pineapple plants. None of them have actually grown pineapples yet, though.

Next summer might give me one.

Apples, pears, plums, cherries, rhubarb, raspberries, gooseberries, tomatoes, grapes, cucumber, squash and a variety of herbs. I think i forgot something.....

Well the indoor plants are mostly orchids and cacti also a few more fragrant flowers.

orchids are my favorite flower.

Yeah but they are a bit fragile tho, at least the ones that you keep potted i have no idea about wild ones.

yeah, I hear they're difficult to keep alive.
