Btw you might wanna be cautious with where you post ETA
Euskadi Ta Askatasuna is the original ETA, it's a Basque group of "freedom fighters" and they are reason for many terrorist actions in Spain... So yeah... Some people might really be offended =_=; |
I petted a hummingbird today that stunned itself. Put it outside in a box and it flew off sometime ago. <3 for the hummingbird. Death to the skeeters. I welt up with their bites.

ANYTHING can be taken offensively. I mean someone dressed up for a comicon type thing as pedobear, giving out candy to children ads a joke and was arrested (they said he was a sex offender, well an ex one but then were all WHOOPS, wrong person) *ETA* ETA can also mean Electronic Transactions Association |
Actually, the original "ETA" is an acronym meaning "Estimated Time of Arrival".
It's been in use since... the dawn of traveling. |
hahahaha. yeah. the internet should not be taken as srs bsns.
Wiggles, that's the only definition I ever knew for ETA until today. |
Lucifer: I know it's the internet, that's why I am telling you take care, since I know there's people from Spain here too, and it is a really touchy subject :/
And I don't know about you, but I don't want to offend people without a really good reason... Johnny: It probably hasn't no... People didn't use that many acronyms in "the dawn of time" And even if they did use ETA as an acronym for that very early it would only be in England.... |

If people get offended when taking things out of context, it's their own fault. Some people would probably get offended that I'm going around using the name/title of satan, too >3> |
Yeah, sorry, I'm not going to pretend a terrorist group owns the acronym "ETA", which has been in use since... god only knows. Since before trains, probably.
I've never even heard of that group. And if people are really stupid enough to think that something that obviously has nothing to do with terrorism is about an obscure terrorist group in Spain, that's... really not my problem. |
Lucifer: well if they have no idea what it means, and only know about the ETA group... then it's rather easy to take offence
And I am not saying you shouldn't do anything because as you said, all people can be offended, it just seems smarter to keep away from the too obvious stuff... Johnny: You know European kids learn about groups like ETA and IRA in school.... And I really don't see why "Because you don't know about it" would ever be a legitimate argument |
Aiko, what's your avatar wearing on it's face? It has me curious.
|
I'll probably stick to it, it's a way to add stuff in when I have, and it's the most well known one instead of like explaining it out before like I added this in after: or similar.. x.x
I picked up the use of ETA through den of demons, a sort of cool BJD (Ball Jointed Doll) form.. Then again I got outbirk from them, but only my mom and I use that one in real life... it's a term for freaking out.. xD it has a history.. it's a fun word.. We should bring outbirk to here *nodnod* *ETA* >.>;; Also if anybody takes offense they can ask me about it and I'd explain. |
ETA means "Estimated Time of Arrival" in my brain, and just recently "Edited To Add".
I'm not going to change it, and neither should anyone else. Subject dropped, move on. @Delirium Those are "bandages" I think. They're in Trinkets and Tresses. |
Aiko is wearing band-aids. XD
|
Delirium: bandaids :3
You can buy them in the hair shop... "trinkets and tresses" right? |
