Yus xD. I'm moving along with the progress <3

Stale golden grams? x'D

Fallen 11-11-2010 02:30 PM

I have no idea. xD;;

Uhm, uhm, may I rant to you for a moment? D:

Kamikaze Chinchilla 11-11-2010 02:47 PM

Go for it x3

Fallen 11-11-2010 02:55 PM

Yay rants! Okay, so here goes: (Pardon for the cursing.)

I know certain sites have really crappy staffs, but this one Beta site is really starting to piss me off. It seems as though the staff really isn't doing anything. Despite the number of suggestions and glitches reported, their To-Do list never changes, and the admin seems a little arrogant. Not to mention, I just noticed she posted a "Banned Users" post. Wtf? Those things are supposed to be kept confidential. Not only did she publicly humiliate two users, one of them was perfectly innocent. (Though, it could be questionable. Even so, the Admin striked, note: not deleted, everything she'd written about the user before and said "He said that this is what happened so he's not banned.")

I love the pixels of this site and know a few people on it, but the staff is ticking me off. >_>

Sorry. D:

Kamikaze Chinchilla 11-11-2010 03:14 PM

Eww.. D;. And here I thought everyone learned their lessons from gaia and solia x'D. Seriously..making a banned user list has more damage than what is originally intended. If the user has the same name on other sites, they're often turned into targets for abuse. I remember solia's reasoning was that they got tired of people asking who was banned and finally posted a list to shut people up..so it was a higher priority for them to minimize their workload, and they didn't care how much damage their actions would place on those who were banned. And some of the people who were banned only did minor things...nothing that should cause a user to get banned.

It's possible that their staff is busy with other stuff, so the list doesn't change. They might get to it eventually.

But seriously, that site does sound like the pits.

What site?

Fallen 11-11-2010 03:22 PM

Yeah, I got really irritated when I saw that. I remember when one user, on another site that didn't have the list, got banned. Everyone knew about it, but only because the mods argued with him in the forums before banning him. Afterwards, there were fights and threads posted everywhere for weeks because of it. It makes me wonder how bad it would get with a list. I just don't understand how people can reason with that. Just put a small note on their profile or something saying they are banned. People who visit it to see if the user is active will see it and not ask questions. (Hopefully that wouldn't be as bad as a list though. No idea. What do you think?)

I was giving them the benefit of the doubt on that subject for a while, but then I noticed them logging on frequently and not posting to help anyone with their errors. If they are working on the site, they should keep us updated so we don't assume they are not doing anything to help. After all, if they're willing enough to flaunt everyone's dirty laundry, they should be willing enough to post updates and/or glitches.

I guess I'm mostly irritated because this site seemed as though it had potential. Then all of these little things started popping up. No chatting in the market, not replying to glitches... what happened? D:

Cronislee: I prefer not to list the site name, because then it is potential harassment. D;
Edit; Ugh, I take that back. It's about a site, so... I guess it's okay? It's Lilifactory.

Kamikaze Chinchilla 11-11-2010 03:30 PM

wtf? No chatting in the market? That makes it tough for people to keep their threads up. Making a rule about not replying to glitches is like a child who doesn't want to hear about the glitches..it means they tend to get buried quickly.

I do not think it's a good idea to post a banned list, or mark a user as being banned. Because the word on that user's status will spread like wildfire (ie a gossiper who happens to see the page). I think it's best to keep such matters quiet, as much as possible. The only exception would be to share the list with the staff, so at least they know who to look out for in case such a person decides to make a return on a different account.

Ultima 11-11-2010 03:30 PM

Ew. That doesn't sound like fun >0 I know what your saying about the "Just put a small note on their profile or something saying they are banned." One site I go on adds "_disabled" to the end of the name (Ex. "Ultima_disabled") and another crosses out the username wherever it appears (Ex. "Ultima") ... They could do something to the usernames like these sites.

... Or not, as Chin doesn't seem to like the idea =P

Kamikaze Chinchilla 11-11-2010 03:35 PM

Well..it's not really in my power to determine what this site does and doesn't do. Zy and Fen are in control of the system. So they might end up doing something like you suggested.

Fallen 11-11-2010 03:36 PM

Chinchi: They didn't make a rule about not replying to glitches, it's the staff who doesn't reply to glitches. There was one thread I made that got a reply, and out of the two topics posted in that thread, only one was addressed. Another topic similar was made shortly after mine, by a different user. Only other users replied to the topic. It makes me feel as though we're being ignored, which is not a good feeling on a Beta site. After all, aren't the users a big part in helping the staff to develop the site?

This is true. I guess any information given on the internet can put someone in a bad position. D;

Ultima: If they were to put something, they'd need to keep it small so that it doesn't draw attention. Something where you would have to be looking for it in order to find. Imo at least.

Kamikaze Chinchilla 11-11-2010 03:39 PM

Or it's possible that the coders don't even know how to fix the glitches x'D

-shrug- I'm just throwing ideas around. Alternatives to having a list.

A definate possibility XD

Fallen 11-11-2010 03:44 PM

It'd still be nice to know. [Here come another example. xD] On that same site I mentioned before, about the drama on the forums because of a banned user, the staff had it's shady spots, it really did, and nearly everyone knew about it, but the staff still commented on glitch and suggestion threads to try and help out the user. They told us if they couldn't fix it or needed time to fix something. We weren't left in the dark. I know ever site isn't like that, but it was so nice to be acknowledged.
u__u

Ultima: Yeah. I thought the idea was pretty nifty, but Chinchi brought out a good point. xD

Kamikaze Chinchilla 11-11-2010 03:44 PM

I'm thinking it's probably because they don't know how to fix the glitches x'D. And that would be a good reason why they don't respond to the glitch threads x'D

Fallen 11-11-2010 03:46 PM

Probably. XD
I could definitely see that as being one of the main reasons. xD
