Lawtan: Must...resist...breaking out...in laugh- Bwahahahaha!

Liethell 12-13-2013 10:46 AM

*Wakes up to the sound of laughter* What? why are we laughing?

Lawtan 12-13-2013 12:19 PM

Why not laugh?

Liethell 12-13-2013 12:55 PM

True, true. That is a very valid point 8Uc

Yokuutsu 12-15-2013 01:45 AM

I hate saurkraut -random-

Espy 12-15-2013 04:37 AM

o.O;;

Yeah, apparently quite a few people dislike sauerkraut. I figure it's a bit of an acquired taste. Seems great to be with a decent portion of hamshank or German sausage.

Lawtan 12-15-2013 08:48 AM

I am so-so with it - not a large amount, but I like it with weiss-wurst. :-)

Yokuutsu 12-15-2013 02:22 PM

My brother, I put some on with stuff in it for him, come home like 10 hours later...no one has bothered to put the half a pot left in the fridge or through it out, and left a sink full of dishes which they didn't even bother to try and wash out.

So I do all that, all with the sickening smell of saurkraut around me (it makes me feel ew. Not as bad as some smells though)

Liethell 12-15-2013 07:01 PM

Oh good lord that sounds horrible. I like sauerkraut on food, but left out..? Blech. I'm sorry to hear that :C

Poggio 12-17-2013 03:40 AM

Old/left out cabbage usually hurts my stomach to eat.
xD Random food related topic but I had Sake as my first drink ever. I am not sure what its suppose to taste like other then hot stinging water.

Fauxreal 01-19-2014 05:57 PM

I really wish I could find an 'under-the-table' job. :/

Sora 01-22-2014 12:56 AM

Espy 01-22-2014 12:59 AM

Fauxreal 01-27-2014 12:39 AM

My lips are chapped. And where am I going to get the money to go to Japan?

Lawtan 01-27-2014 03:53 AM

Kickstarter, perhaps?

Yokuutsu 01-29-2014 12:11 AM

I wanna go to Japan .-.

Fauxreal 01-29-2014 12:50 AM

Kickstarter you have to claim on your taxes. And I can't make more than a thousand a month. (I need 2k for Japan.) :( Good suggestion though.

Yokuutsu 01-29-2014 01:55 AM

Do it over multiple months? Idk?

Fauxreal 01-30-2014 02:11 AM

Naw. I'm trying to do dog walking and see where it takes me. *Under the table is good!*

Yokuutsu 01-30-2014 02:41 AM

Also illegal :D

Though, depending on how little you made...it doesn't matter really (W2s don't have to be issued under a certain amount and you'd get back all the taxes XD)

But I don't care lol

Fauxreal 02-09-2014 11:13 PM

I believe if you make under 2k you don't actually have to file. All I really need is one thousand. :)

Tohopekaliga 02-10-2014 12:54 PM

Taxes...that's something I need to do soon. It's not all that bad to do, honestly. It's just bothersome getting all the papers I need for it.

Yokuutsu 02-13-2014 06:04 PM

It's under 500 that you don't have to file legally, though if you file yourself (and taxes were taken out) you'll get all of that back.

Fauxreal 02-14-2014 12:52 AM

Really? $500?
Is that different for people on disability? They told me I didn't need to file?

Yokuutsu 02-14-2014 03:35 AM

I think my dad still filed jointly with my mother (married) once he got on disability.

But idk.

But if they find out you're working, even walking dogs, they could take away your disability. Hell, my aunt and uncle have a garden, I heard if someone ratted them out, they could lose theirs for simply not having enough money to buy food so saved money by growing it instead.

Fauxreal 02-15-2014 02:17 AM

Oh. I know if you are married you file together.

An I do know about the working, but actually you can make up to an extra 1000 a month and still get your disability. But even if you make 1001 - they can take it away. I know because I looked that up.
Taxes are so annoying though aren't they?!

Yokuutsu 02-15-2014 02:36 AM

Not here. You work, they take at least a portion of it away. They can take it away if they decide that because my aunt and uncle can do a garden that they can work....which they haven't, but it could happen.

And that thing you're talking about is a special program within Disability for those not permanently/completely disabled. It also cuts down by quite a bit the SSI check you get from the governmental pamphlet I'm looking at.

If your only income besides SSI is
the money you make from your job,
then we do not count the first $85 of
your monthly earnings. We deduct
from your SSI payments 50 cents
of every dollar you earn after the
$85 deduction.

So for every dollar beyond 85, you essentially lose half the dollar. (Though it won't be reflected in your pay check, it would be reflected in your SSI check) Which means making 1k means you'd lose over 400 dollars of your SSI check.

Fauxreal 02-15-2014 02:41 AM

Huh... I did read the rules a while ago and goodness know they change them all time. I'm not surprised if it get worse here soon.

All I know is you can not live properly on disability.

Yokuutsu 02-15-2014 02:51 AM

Actually, you can depending on where. Of course, it also requires food stamps mind.

And cheap housing, which this area is known for (good thing about a rural shit hole, rent is cheaper usually, though can still be outrageous at times....and there is a housing project that goes by income and all that). It also depends on the kind of life you're used to. And if you want to continue that or live within your means. That's the problem with some people, they want to live higher than their income allows (not saying anyone in particular, but all those people that get really heavily into debt and all).

Also, technically, when it comes to things, it isn't meant to be enough by itself (maybe with food stamps or a roommate/significant other or whatever). It's called Supplemental Security Income, it's supposed to be extra. I know plenty of people who have retired/can't work and expect it to pay for everything...which two people on disability...well...they can get by pretty well depending on how far from a town they live and all.

It could be worse, like back before social security where if a church or your family wouldn't take care of you....you'd be screwed.

Also, everyone I know on it gets food stamps and medi....care? Caid? Whatever. So they're technically on three different social welfares. Take that as you will.

Vicious Whisper 02-17-2014 02:18 AM

Well around here - there is just no way. *yay* big city!

Yokuutsu 02-19-2014 12:50 AM

And that's the thing about big cities. There's a higher standard of living, basic things cost more. It makes me want to live here, but I hate here.

Fauxreal 02-19-2014 02:23 PM

The good thing is I don't need a car here. Which is awesome. That actually cuts down on a LOT of costs.

Yokuutsu 02-19-2014 03:17 PM

You need a car here, or be prepared to call transit for a dollar to the store and a dollar (or two) back home from what I read....if you're in town...somewhere else? It's more.

Or to pay someone gas money

Fauxreal 02-19-2014 04:23 PM

Like a taxi?!
Ish... kinda?
